Prayer before the Word: 

 _ O God, I thank You for yet another day. I magnify Your name because You are my God and all I have. Please, use me according to Your will and prosper me in Jesus name, Amen_ 

 

TODAY’S TOPIC: Tempted to be lifted 

Text: Luke 4:13- 21 (NIV): 

"4:13. When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

4:14. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.

4:15. He taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised him.

4:16. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read.

4:17. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

4:18. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,

4:19. to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

4:20. Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him,

4:21. and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Brethren, temptation does not come to you in vaịn. It comes to try you as fire tries iron and remold them to become stronger, reshape and more useful. When Jesus returned from where He was tempted, bible says He became stronger and famous. That was because He didn't allow the tempter to have his way in His life. Therefore, I pray for you that you will become stronger in faith and wealth after the storm in Jesus name, Amen. You are unstoppable! Go you rejoicing!

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God of yesterday, today and tomorrow, favour me today with that job or contract that will surprise the people around me in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, this Saturday will not be my last but th Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise, multiply my finances, bless my family and uplift my economy before the end of this week, in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: God will set the wicked on fire

Text: Psalm 11:1-7 (NIV): 

"11:1. In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain.

11:2. For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

11:3. When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

11:4. The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them.

11:5. The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.

11:6. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

11:7. For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face."

SHOWER (Reflection):

For your sake, for our sake, God will the wicked on fire. He is out to prosper and uplift you this month and beyond in Jesus name,  Amen. He is in the holy temple watching on us and planning to pay us accordingly. So never get discouraged, fear or troubled because the wicked looks fresh now. A day is coming when you will not find them again. God is with us. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, rest the souls of the wicked since they refused to repent, in  Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, any power that is on assignment to pull me down, fall down and die now in Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise, multiply my finances, bless my family and uplift my economy before the end of this week, in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Live peacefully with the leaders and the led

Text: Titus 3:1-10 (NIV): 

"3:1. Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,

3:2. to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.

3:3. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

3:4. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

3:5. he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

3:6. whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

3:7. so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

3:8. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

3:9. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.

3:10. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Today's reading reminds us to be obedient, respectful and supportive to the leaders. We are charged to maintain peace with all irrespective of their religious belief, education, exposure and others. If not, thorns of the world such as policies, behaviour, etc. So pray  for them to change their method and skills towards the Church and you. Run away from those who will make you to commit sin.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Missing Jesus found preaching the gospel

Text: Luke 2:43-50 (NIV): 

"2:43. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

2:44. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.

2:45. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.

2:46. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

2:47. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

2:48. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."

2:49. "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"

2:50. But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

SHOWER (Reflection):

Today's reading teaches or reminds us about our Lord Jesus Christ. When His earthly parents heading home, Jesus concentrated in teaching the gospel. It is a tale of commitment, doggednes, rejection of the crowd or so, just to please God. There is need for us to be focused in life, committed and never allowed distraction to override our interests or general. Do not allow your parents, spouse, children, sibling or even religious leaders to stop you from preaching the gospel or doing what is right. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, in this month of May, I shall receive and be promoted by my destiny helper Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Ingredients of wealth 

Text: Proverb 3:1-10 (NIV): 

"3:1. My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,

3:2. for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

3:3. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

3:4. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

3:5. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

3:6. in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

3:7. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.

3:8. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

3:9. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

3:10. then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."

SHOWER (Reflection):

If you want to become wealthy and prosperous in life, you must love God. Loving God entails listening, reading and understanding the word, and applying it in your life accordingly. Today's reading listed some of the gains for doing this to include long life and prosperity, faithfulness, you will gain favour from both God and man, gain insight, health and others. So what is still keeping you from accepting Him?

TODAY’S TOPIC: The Charge of an Evangelist 

Text: 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (NIV): 

4:1. The presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:

4:2. Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.

4:3. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

4:4. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

4:5. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

SHOWER (Reflection):

Evangelist is a man of God with clear charge to preach the gospel to all nations. God wants him not to preach only but to also become a humanist. An Evangelist should be ready to face persecution which will help him ro know more, expose more and be closer to God. The person is expected to endure pains, agony or hardship. That is to say, the person can still face temptations but God will enable him to overcome. He/she must be committed and ever ready to preach, give out, pray...

We must put out good fighting! God will not abandon, amen..

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God arise in this month of May,, silence the rising war from the all parts of the earth that I must testify Your goodness in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Let him go

Text: John 11:36-45 (NIV): 

11:36. Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

11:37. But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?"

11:38. Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.

11:39. "Take away the stone," he said. "But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days."

11:40. Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"

11:41. So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

11:42. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me."

11:43. When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"

11:44. The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."

11:45. Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him."

SHOWER (Reflection):

When Jesus arrived at Lazarus home, Mary and Martha were already receiving sympathizers. He has been died for days. But the family found favour with God and Jesus commanded the grave to set the dead man free. Lazarus rose and was unbound from the dead world dressing. He was set free everything about death. That was our Lord Jesus Christ is going to do in our lives today as we go to our churches, ministries and businesses. He will find us at our various needs. Every dead areas of our lives shall receive lives to the glory of His name and shame of the devil, amen. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, every dead area in my life receive life and be unbound to flourish in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God my father, I wait on Your power to shine and conquer today and forever, in Jesus name, Amen 

3. O God arise, send the enemies of Your goodness in my life to fire, in Jesus name, Amen.
