TODAY’S TOPIC: Live like Christ 

Text: 1 Peter 4:1-6 (NIV):

"4:1. Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

4:2. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

4:3. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.

4:4. They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.

4:5. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

4:6. For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

SHOWER (Reflection):

Living like Christ is a difficult task but we must do that. We have no option. We were created for the same purpose. We chose to answer Christians because we want to be Christ-like. He died on the cross for our redemption. We have to use that our body to serve Him in truth and honesty. When one is in Christ, he is a new creature. Every old ways of doing things, old life, etc. must also pass away. Brethren, let the reflections we make this season propel us to live a happy godly lives tomorrow in Jesus name, Amen. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, my father, use me as a working tool to fix Your people and populate Your kingdom ...in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I shall not die again because Christ has died for me sake and ended my sufferings and fear ...in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged

Text: John 19:1-10 (NIV):

"19:1. Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.

19:2. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe

19:3. and went up to him again and again, saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!" And they struck him in the face.

19:4. Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, "Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him."

19:5. When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!"

19:6. As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, "Crucify! Crucify!" But Pilate answered, "You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him."

19:7. The Jews insisted, "We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God."

19:8. When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid,

19:9. and he went back inside the palace. "Where do you come from?" he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer.

19:10. "Do you refuse to speak to me?" Pilate said. "Don't you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?"

SHOWER (Reflection):

Welcome to good Friday, brethren. I am delighted to welcome you all to the day's of reflection on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today, we will behold many gory videos and pictures portraying how 'Jesus' Christ was crucified. This is a story we know or should know very well. An important but pathetic tale always reechoing in our memories because His death on the cross brought us redemption, happiness and love. The questions we should ask ourselves as we look at all these are; are we still flogging Jesus Christ? Are we still lying or killing Jesus? It could be through our relationship with people or how we responds to things of God. There is an urgent need for us to reflect on this and make eternal amendment. Don't just change today and return to your dirty or sinful life after the season. Jesus loves you. Show Him love too today and forever. You will never regret it!!!

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I bow before You today. Please forgive me in any where I still sin against You despite Your love towards me. Because You live, I promise to remain faithful  ...in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God my father, anywhere or anything in me or around me that still didn't glorify Your name, please wipe them away not minding if they ...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise and destroy whoever that is burning candle, posing naked, hungry or sleepless night in order to pull me down, in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Moses Encountered God 

Text: Exodus 24:9-18 (NIV):

24:9. Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up

24:10. and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself.

24:11. But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

24:12. The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have written for their instruction."

24:13. Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God.

24:14. He said to the elders, "Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute can go to them."

24:15. When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it,

24:16. and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud.

24:17. To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.

24:18. Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

SHOWER (Reflection):

When things seemed to be going well, encounter God. When things not working well, also seek the face of God. When you do this, God will rest His face on You. God will hand you over the tables of blessings and solve your problems in Jesus name, Amen. Kindly seek God this holy week for a better society and longer life and prosperity.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I have come to serve You today. Please make Yourself free to be found irrespective of my sinful nature ...in Jesus name, Amen.

Let love reigns

TODAY’S TOPIC: Let love reign 

Text: Romans 12:11-20(NIV):

"12:11.Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

12:12. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

12:13. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

12:14. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

12:15. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

12:16. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

12:17. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

12:18. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

12:19. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

12:20. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Let love reign. Love peace be sustained. Easter is a period of sobber reflection...a time for us to appreciate God for gift of His son who died on the cross for our redemption. The best we can give Him now and forever is righteous life. Give Him praises, allow people around you to equally rejoice. Do not pay evil to evil or so. Remember that if He had paid evil to His killers we wouldn't have been here. As you celebrate this week, may God's purpose for the season shine in your life...in Jesus name, Amen.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, may Your grace and mercy shine forth in my life this season...in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: God's promise suffers no shame 

Text: Jeremiah 11:6-23 (NIV):

"11:16. The LORD called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken.

11:17. The LORD Almighty, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you, because the house of Israel and the house of Judah have done evil and provoked me to anger by burning incense to Baal.

11:18. Because the LORD revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing.

11:19. I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, "Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more."

11:20. But, O LORD Almighty, you who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause.

11:21. "Therefore this is what the LORD says about the men of Anathoth who are seeking your life and saying, 'Do not prophesy in the name of the LORD or you will die by our hands'--

11:22. therefore this is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine.

11:23. Not even a remnant will be left to them, because I will bring disaster on the men of Anathoth in the year of their punishment."

SHOWER (Reflection):

God's promise suffers no shame. It is devine and comes with enjoyment, favour and everlasting joy. In this season of commemoration of His death and resurrection, I want to charge us not to be deterred or fear over whatever happenings around us. You can see from today's reading, that God does not forget. Once He sets to do a thing, He does it in a way that is amazing. If He decided to fight for you as He did for Jeremiah today, you will only but marvelled. So seek Him, keep His promise and ask for His divine intervention always. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, arise and fight my battle so that the enemy will know i am serving a living God...in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By your mercy o God, let fire consume all those converging or having meeting to destroy me...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I must celebrate this season with laughter and promotions in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: The only way to the top

Text: John 14:1-6 (NIV):

"14:1. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

14:2. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

14:3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

14:4. You know the way to the place where I am going."

14:5. Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

14:6. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Jesus Christ is the only way to the top. Whoever believes in Him will have and enjoy life everlasting. He said we should not be troubled. What is it you are seeking or searching for? Kindly allow Jesus access to your life. You won't regret it. All you need is to be committed to His things, know Him, love Him and follow Him. And you will never regret it in life.

2. Anointing that follows the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I command you to fall upon me now...in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Price awaits every action

Text: Jeremiah 36:23-32 (NIV):

"36:23. Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe's knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

36:24. The king and all his attendants who heard all these words showed no fear, nor did they tear their clothes.

36:25. Even though Elnathan, Delaiah and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.

36:26. Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel to arrest Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.

36:27. After the king burned the scroll containing the words that Baruch had written at Jeremiah's dictation, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

36:28. "Take another scroll and write on it all the words that were on the first scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah burned up.

36:29. Also tell Jehoiakim king of Judah, 'This is what the LORD says: You burned that scroll and said, "Why did you write on it that the king of Babylon would certainly come and destroy this land and cut off both men and animals from it?"

36:30. Therefore, this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on the throne of David; his body will be thrown out and exposed to the heat by day and the frost by night.

36:31. I will punish him and his children and his attendants for their wickedness; I will bring on them and those living in Jerusalem and the people of Judah every disaster I pronounced against them, because they have not listened.'"

36:32. So Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and as Jeremiah dictated, Baruch wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them."

SHOWER (Reflection):

King Jehoiakim was full of himself that he burnt the scroll containing God's message to his people. Little did he know that God's word cannot be burnt. It is always afresh and continuous. You cannot stop the spreading of gospel. This is problem we have in the world today. People are not only refusing to adhere to God's instructions/commandments, but they are also fighting the ministers and ministry. The price as we can see here is curse. You incur God's curses on you and will surely die! Don't fight the gospel. Always look at whatever message given to you and see how you can obey or dispute them by talking to God in prayers and supplications.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, my father, bring down the pride and arrogant, pay the enemies in their own coins...in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, in this month of April, every divination, incantation  and plans of the enemy must return to them hundred fold...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise, make me to encounter you  for better tomorrow in Jesus name, Amen.
