TODAY’S TOPIC: The Rare Love of Brethren

Text: Acts 16:11-15 (NIV): 

"16:11. From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Neapolis.

16:12. From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

16:13. On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.

16:14. One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.

16:15. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us."

SHOWER (Reflection):

God so love the world that He gave His begotten son to die for our sins. Jesus accepted us and came into the world to save us. Lydia, upon accepting Jesus, invited the brethren to live in her house immediately.  This is currently rare in our present generation for people to willingly surrender themselves completely because that is what it means. She wouldn't have invited them over to her house if she still had skeleton in her cupboard. Again, most men of God would prefer sleeping in good hotel beds and so on. We have to offer ourselves completely to things of God. Give house when you can. Offer money, time or other resources to move the gospel to the promised land. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, thanks for making me to be living among the living. I pray for Your kindness to remain deep in Your works in Jesus name, Amen.

2. I pray to conquer and excel. I pray to win, transform and promoted in Jesus name, Amen.

3. As I step out today, I step into favour. As I return back, I return with goodies, love and laughter in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Outreach  

Text: Acts 15:30-35 (NIV): 

"15:30. The men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter.

15:31. The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message.

15:32. Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.

15:33. After spending some time there, they were sent off by the brothers with the blessing of peace to return to those who had sent them.

15:34. [but Silas decided to remain there.]

15:35. But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Outreach is a Christian programme aimed at bringing together a Christian community. If your church or religious group or denominations are not strong, you are encouraged to embark on it. It is a physical exercise aimed at upliftment of the brethren to become spiritually aware. Try it today. Your church or institution may be lagging behind because of this. You have the gifts to bring them back. Go ahead now! 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, strengthen me to embark on outreach to bring more souls to You in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, close down any window or door devil uses to gain entrance to disfavour me. I am a winner henceforth in Jesus name, Amen.

3. As I step out today, I step into favour. I step into promotion. Victory is mine in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: God answers by fire

Text: 2 King's 19:28-37 (NIV): 

"19:29. "This will be the sign for you, O Hezekiah: "This year you will eat what grows by itself, and the second year what springs from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

19:30. Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above.

19:31. For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

19:32. Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria: "He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.

19:33. By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city, declares the LORD.

19:34. I  will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant."

19:35. That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning--there were all the dead bodies!

19:36. So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.

19:37. One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Every Christian must know their stand in God. If not that Hezekiah and his people knew their stand in God and sought for His intervention, they could have been killed or turn into slavery. We ought to stand in to present our case before God always. He will not fail us.

1. O God, empower me to conquer my problems in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: What does it require to bring people to God?

Text: Acts  (NIV): 

"15:12. The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.

15:13. When they finished, James spoke up: "Brothers, listen to me.

15:14. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.

15:15. The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

15:16. 'After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it,

15:17. that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things'

15:18. that have been known for ages.15:19. "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.

15:20. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

15:21. For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."

SHOWER (Reflection):

What does it require to bring people to God? This question is very necessary, especially those who see the church as a means to propagate their ideals, promote strange doctrines, etc. There is need for us to return to the main objective; salvation. A lot of people have turned the Church of God to their selfish ambitions... Do you know how many people you would have prevented from gaining their salvation because of your actions in the place of worship? Did you impose certain rules to your members? Think now and allow Christ to be head your Church for good!

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, have mercy on me. Kindly wipe and destroy whatever in me , outside me or around me that scares people from worshipping You in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, fight my battle for me. In the morning, afternoon and night, disgrace all the witches and wizards who have declared war against me. Set me free in  Jesus name, Amen.

3. I am the light of God, the salt of nation, a city set on the hill. I cannot be hidden but shine forever in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Have you been written-off? 

Text: Mark 14:56-65 (NIV): 

"14:56. Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.

14:57. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:

14:58. "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this man-made temple and in three days will build another, not made by man.'"

14:59. Yet even then their testimony did not agree.

14:60. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"

14:61. But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

14:62. "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

14:63. The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked.

14:64. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death.

14:65. Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him."

SHOWER (Reflection):

The world hates those who love them. And love those who hate them. If you are facing rejection, dejection or hatred from the world, do not worry. Cheer-up and move on prayerfully and faith. There is nothing they will do you they have never done to Jesus before. They can say you blasphemed. Just stand your ground in truth; you're winner. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I thank You for empowering me to withstand the temptations. I pray to remain strong and win the war at last in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, send Your power and disgrace those who are planning to disgrace me. Gather and burn them to ashes in Jesus name, Amen.

3. I am the light of God, the salt of nation, a city set on the hill. I cannot be hidden but shine forever in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: God's Promise 

Text: Joshua 23:7- 16 (NIV): 

"23:7. Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them.

23:8. But you are to hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have until now.

23:9. "The LORD has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you.

23:10. One of you routs a thousand, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as he promised.

23:11. So be very careful to love the LORD your God.

23:12. "But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,

23:13. then you may be sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land, which the LORD your God has given you.

23:14. "Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.

23:15. But just as every good promise of the LORD your God has come true, so the LORD will bring on you all the evil he has threatened, until he has destroyed you from this good land he has given you.

23:16. If you violate the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the LORD'S anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you."

SHOWER (Reflection):

God says He knew the plans He have for us; the plans of good, not of evil. And His promises unto us will forever come to manifest. In verse 15 of this, Joshua reminded us that His promises never failed? Have you seen, heard or experienced any of His failed promises? It is not possible. It can only be a delay...delays come to prepare us for fulfilment of the promises. Let's therefore be positive and hold on to enjoy His promises. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I know Your promises never failed. Help me to hold unto You and excel in life in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, send down Your power now to demolish and dismantle any throne existing in my life or home that is not from You in Jesus name, Amen.

3. I will manifest Your power today. I will showcase Your light as I move about today in Jesus name, Amen!!!
