[7]And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

[8]For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]."

*SHOWER:*

When Abraham was taken his only son, Isaac to conduct sacrifice, the son inquired about the sacrificial lamb and was told to be calm as it would be found when they get there. As Abraham remained focus and wanted to sacrifice Isaac, God directed him to ceasefire, and behold the sacrificial lamb was seen. Today's text reminded us to remain focus, not to panic about anything, or loose sight that God will perfect our needs. I don't know what you're hoping unto God for. Bible is telling us to keep on praying; pray fervently because He promised to give us whatever we ask for. That is, we must keep asking; remain focus, do not get tire until you receive it (Phil. 4:6; Matt. 7:7). In verses 7 and 8 of today's texts, it added that if you think of whatever that is good, fine and worth doing, you will surely receive it together with God's peace and transquility. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I am grateful for your love and kindness unto me and my family. Please, help me to continue to trust and focus on Your goodness in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. In God I trust and focus attention. Therefore, I will continue to move from glory to glory.*

*2. There is nothing that can stop me from wearing a crown.*

*3. By the grace of God, I shall continue to triumph over the troubles of life, temptations and evil powers.*

*SHOWER:*

Paul, in today's teaching, urged us not to be deterred by trials and errors and people of the world. He pointed out that by the reason of His anointing or acceptance, we can do all things through the Christ who strengthens us. All we need is to hold unto him. We will keep enjoying all the full rights and privileges abound for those who trust in him.

Oh God, I give You praises for today. Please, help me to abide by your words and , Amen!

Our God is God of vergence. There is nothing impossible before Him. When He comes into your life, every atom of imperfection becomes perfect. So, seek God when He could be found. Because by holding unto Him, you shall be duly rewarded, empowered and uplifted to serve Him. He has promised to put His spirit upon you, clean and multiply you. When our God anoints you, everything will be very easy for you. So, you must wake up and follow Him without turning back. Go ahead and do whatever He told you to do. Be courageous and fear less!

*TODAY’S THEME: The blessing of the middleman*

Text: Luke 2:25-29

"[25]Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout [cautiously and carefully observing the divine Law], and looking for the Consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

[26]And it had been divinely revealed (communicated) to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

[27]And prompted by the [Holy] Spirit, he came into the temple [enclosure]; and when the parents brought in the little child Jesus to do for Him what was customary according to the Law,

[28][Simeon] took Him up in his arms and praised and thanked God and said,

[29]And now, Lord, You are releasing Your servant to depart (leave this world) in peace, according to Your word."

*SHOWER:*

In business, a middleman is the person who buys directly from the producer and sales to retailers and final consumers. He is a man who stands in the gap between the manufacturer and consumers. Simeon played that role according to our today's text. A middleman here is an intercessor or intermediary positioned by God to directly or indirectly communicate or relate with Him and others. We saw in the bible how the likes of Moses, Abraham, Debora and others played same roles for the Israelites. It was for the same purpose our Lord Jesus Christ came and died for our salvation. The scripture said that Simeon was righteous, devoted to things of God and patiently waiting for a consolation (answers to his prayers, liberation for Israelites, etc). And at last God answered his prayers! He became fulfilled, and immediately requested for a rest (death). Dearest, your family is in need of a middleman. Your street, community, state, country, continent, and the world at large are in dire need of middleman. There are trouble here and there, robbery, kidnapping, rape, injustice and so on. There are beggars, mentally deranged, orphans and the less privileged looking for consolers. God wants us to rise to the occasion to speak or provide for our people. You can do it. I can do it. Let's rise to seek God's hands of liberation!!!

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I give You praise for finding me worthy to stand before You today. I pray for Your power to be able to provide the needed leadership my people desire in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. February is the month to remember in my life. God make me a middleman in Your vineyard.*

We have come into another great month of the year. It's marvelous in our eyes. What has been your choice since the year began? How have you been realising your dreams for the year? When Pirate asked his again and again, who should I release for you between a sinner and the righteous God? They chose Barabbas. He had no choice than to obey their wishes and washed his hands off them. They even accepted that the blood should be on their heads. We are faced with such options today, this week, this month and this year. Some have chosen to kill or die just to make money. Some have even swore that they are not ready to bear children and so on just because of affluence, wealth, etc. It is left for us to make wise decision. The year is still ripe. Let's make wise decision now to avoid regretting tomorrow. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for another great opportunity You gave me to study Your word on Earth. Please, help me to implement them by making a right choice in Jesus name, Amen!

*SHOWER:*

A leader is a team player; charged with the responsibilities of leading members of their group to a desired destination. They are called different names both when they win or fail to actualise their organisational objectives. Our today's text listed some leadership qualities or skills to include ability to seek out members; ability to rescue members from troubles; abilities to unite, gather and feed members. If you're leader and you don't possess these qualities kindly request from God or resign and back out. Because in verse 16, it was clearly stated that they will be punished. Unfortunately, this is very difficult for many leaders to do. That is very bad. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I exalt You for making me a leader. Please, inbuild me with the qualities to move higher in Jesus name, Amen!

[15]The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry.

[16]The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. [I Pet. 3:10-12.]

[17]When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles..."

*SHOWER:*

Deceitful tongues are mouths known for speaking lies, instigating crisis and others. There are no way you expect them to live a healthy or longer life. Because they waste their previous time seeking, discussing, plotting and executing evils. They are always ready to talk on what they were requested to speak on and what no one cared to listen to. So, God is against their evil acts. The time they ought to seek God is rather when they seek and execute evil. It is what reveals those to be killed or punished, how and who to rob, discovers and plots those to be raped or defiled or sexual immorality, etc. That is why Matthew 15:11 says that what goes into a man does not make him unclean but what comes out of his mouth. God wants us to stay clear from evil. His face is purely on the righteous to set them free, provide and protect them.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I submit myself to you. Please forgive me if I have not been using my tongue kindly. Henceforth, I pray to use it only for Your kingdom in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My tongue is God's property. It shall no longer trespass or commit evil.*

Text: Leviticus 18:26-30

"[26]So you shall keep My statutes and My ordinances and shall not commit any of these abominations, neither the native-born nor any stranger who sojourns among you,

[27]For all these abominations have the men of the land done who were before you, and the land is defiled–

[28][Do none of these things] lest the land spew you out when you defile it as it spewed out the nation that was before you.

[29]Whoever commits any of these abominations shall be cut off from among [his] people.

[30]So keep My charge: do not practice any of these abominable customs which were practiced before you and defile yourselves by them. I am the Lord your God."

*SHOWER:*

Some people believed that the road to longer, fulfilling or healthier life involves only eating quality (balanced) diet, engaging on sports and sleeping. The aforementioned are good and necessary for sure. But not as good or comparable to fleeing away from all sexual immorality. In fact, you cannot enjoy them (sleep, diet or sports) when you fall victims of Sexual immorality. Sexual Immorality is a sin you commit unto yourself or your body and with another or person (s). God detests that because; (1) we are His temple and (2) image (second in command or assistant)- church, instrument, office, land, house or accommodation. He is a jelouse God. Like most of us do, He wouldn't love to eat or work in a dirty environment. It's through us He reveals Himself, declares His will, talks to people (prophesy), heals (spiritually or physically via physicians), etc. From verses 1 to 25 of this same Leviticus 18, God listed sexual immorality to include incest, homosexuality, defilements, adultery, etc. Do you know why they are dangerous or simple way to end your life? They breed jealousy, distrust, fear, anger, envy, war and so on. A perfect example of these are what is happening all over the world available on Google, Social Media, radio, Newspapers and magazines. People are killing themselves, their relatives or supposed beloved because of these sexual immorality. Some who commit the acts are too ashamed to appear or speak in the public, etc. So, why would you engage on an act you wouldn't be proud to speak up, forced to hide or fear to come out openly to defend? Open your eyes and work accordingly. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for today's word of exaltation. I pray You to help me live a Holy life in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My body is God's temple. I hereby flee away from all immorality.*

*2. O God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, please help me to flee away from sexual immorality.*

*3. By God's grace, I am resisting sexual sins and the spirit responsible for them.*

*4. I hereby decree and declare that God has taken over my weaknesses as to restore my life, health and wealth.*

*5. Today is my day in Christ Jesus. I am marching forward to permanent site. Therefore, I am ending January. January shall not end me. In Jesus name, I make these decrees, Amen*

Where lies your confidence?

 _ Merciful father, I worship, honour and glorify Your name this morning. Unto You I submit myself; guide and uplift me to do Your will in Jesus name, Amen_ 

*TODAY’S THEME: Where lies your confidence?*

Text: Ephesians 1:12-14

"[12]So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory!

[13]In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.

[14]That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it–to the praise of His glory."

*SHOWER:*

It takes confidence for a person to reveal their secret to another. And when you have confidence on someone you can easily relate with the person. If it is a good person, you will live to enjoy their goodness. If is a bad person, you too will become had because bad company corrupts good character (1 Cor. 15:33). Thus, Paul in today's text, is still insisting that we should continue to put confidence in God. When our confidence is in God we are automatically; (1) destined or appointed to live to the praise of His glory, (2) hear the Gospel of Truth and receive salvation, (3) receive the Holy Spirit and other good tidings like health, wealth, and mostly importantly, everlasting life. So, where lies your confidence? Is it on your power and ability? Would it be on your job, doctor, medication, parents, native doctors or other unholy ostensible protective places? Put your confidence on where it will bear fruits.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I put my confidence in You. Please, help me to enjoy the fruits of knowing and surrending to You in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My trust and confidence are in Christ Jesus. Therefore, I'm destined and appointed to live to the praise of His glory.*

*2. Am redeemed because I submit myself in Christ. His Holy Spirit are upon me to direct and keep me right in Him alone.*

*3. Because am God's inheritance, sicknesses, pains, lack and evil will no longer locate me.*

*TODAY’S THEME: Obedience is better than Sacrifice*

Text: 1 Samuel 15:13-22

"[13]And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, Blessed are you of the Lord. I have performed what the Lord ordered.

[14]And Samuel said, What then means this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

[15]Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but the rest we have utterly destroyed.

[16]Then Samuel said to Saul, Stop! I will tell you what the Lord said to me tonight. Saul said to him, Say on.

[17]Samuel said, When you were small in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed you king over Israel?

[18]And the Lord sent you on a mission and said, Go, utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites; and fight against them until they are consumed.

[19]Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord, but swooped down upon the plunder and did evil in the Lord's sight?

[20]Saul said to Samuel, Yes, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag king of Amalek and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

[21]But the people took from the spoil sheep and oxen, the chief of the things to be utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.

[22]Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."

*SHOWER:*

Obedience is an act of complying to an instruction or order, sticking to, insisting or observing an existing rule. It is among the prove that you loves, respects or cherish someone, etc. That's why God listed it among His ten commandments (Exodus 20: 2-17; Deuteronomy 5: 6-21) to man. Unfortunately, we always don't care about it. I can say that it's the most disrespected word by everyone. God gave instructions to King Saul to 'clear' the Amalekites due to their sins. But Saul due to fear or 'love or in preferance' to his people yearnings, decided to spare the king and some precious animals and goods. He said they were meant for sacrifice. Imagine! He forgot that the Person he was trying to offer sacrifice to stated otherwise. In fact He is the creator of the universe; has full access to all and can convert all to sacrifice. But He chose obedience. By this act, Saul did not only disrespected God but also absconded from his duty as a king or shelved his responsibilities to others. Like Saul, we often deviate from God's instructions to do certain things by deciding to carry-on our self-imposed projects. This is why the world is now ruled by excuses. Some have compromised their faith, break their covenant with God and so on just to feed themselves, appease their beloved or certain masters, to gain recognition and so on. God who knows that you can do it gave it to you...but you chose to allow people take decisions on your behalf, probably because of how convincing  or enticing they appear to be. That is why some have left the businesses or services God bestowed on them to engage on other lucrative works. Then, struggles, do a lot of things to ensure they succeed on them. If you ask them why, they will blame the economy, government, families, environment, etc. At the end, they will rush to give out huge amounts to church as offerings, seed, tithe and donations. They may even decide to build mansions for God or engage on other charity works at less privileged homes. Of course all these are important. The church needs money to look good and carry-on the works of God. The less privileged are in dare need of your money and other gifts to survive; they are part of evangelism. But is that what God instructed you to do? Did you hear from God before embarking on those projects? Where or how did you make the money or wealth you're using for those projects? They may not be acceptable to God if they were not gueinely made. God may reject you and your gifts at the end if they were not the instructions He gave to you. Re-study today's text from verse 1 to the end. Then ponder over it, and seek the face of God. Obedience is indeed greater than Sacrifice! 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I exalt You for the love and care You're showering me. I am sorry for disrespecting You. I hereby promise not to deviate again from Your instructions. Help and guide me to stand by Your words in Jesus name, Amen!

[23]He replied, He who has [just] dipped his hand in the same dish with Me will betray Me!

[24]The Son of Man is going just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better (more profitable and wholesome) for that man if he had never been born!

[25]Judas, the betrayer, said, Surely it is not I, is it, Master? He said to him, You have stated [the fact].

[26]Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread and, praising God, gave thanks and asked Him to bless it to their use, and when He had broken it, He gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

*SHOWER:*

It takes a courage for a man to confront another who appears to be harbouring evil against him. And even when a man tries doing that, it won't be to an extent of dining and winning with him. Some do that by openly declaring war against the supposed enemy. There are those who may resolve to keeping long distance and malice with such an 'evil' individual. But Our Lord Jesus Christ did not only reveal who His betrayal was (to be) but further shared His fresh and blood with Him. Just imagine that! This is a perfect example of love, forgiveness and humility. Unfortunately, Judas Iscariot, like most of us today, hate to take correction even when opportunity rings bell in our ear. Even though it was to fulfil the scripture, Jesus gave him an open check to seek forgiveness thereafter. But he never did. There are people like that among us who can even hearken up to kill you once they discover you're aware of their evil intention. I pray we don't see ourselves in this kind of ugly situation. Be at alert and prayerful so that devil won't use you to achieve it intention. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You again for speaking to me. I need Your grace to walk the learning in Christ Jesus, Amen!

*1. I am embodiment of Christ. I shall not be used for evil purpose.*

*2. Because Christ Jesus is in me, and I am shielded by Christ Jesus, any evil tongue or leg that will rise against me must die.*

"[12]But now if Christ (the Messiah) is preached as raised from the dead, how is it that some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

[13]But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen;

[14]And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain [it amounts to nothing] and your faith is devoid of truth and is fruitless (without effect, empty, imaginary, and unfounded).

[15]We are even discovered to be misrepresenting God, for we testified of Him that He raised Christ, Whom He did not raise in case it is true that the dead are not raised.

[16]For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised;

There is a popular saying that whatever that is good must always face attacks and confrontations from all angles to become stronger or generally acceptable. Hence, metal usually undergo various blackmistting processes before transforming into stronger finished products such as iron rods, etc. No wonder we are always facing persecution and tribulations in Christendom. From argument over the existence of God to resurrection of Jesus Christ, existence of heaven and hellfire, now resurrection of the dead, among others. Paul in this letter to Corrithians is really amazed that such is also happening among the brethren. Today's Christians are so divided over nothing. It's becoming an all comers affairs as people claiming to be men and women of God are presenting conflicting accounts of Jesus Christ and heaven. Why should we argue or express doubt over possibilities of what we believed on and preach to people? Isn't it a sign of confusion? We must rise to overcome Satan that's trying seriously to override us and take over the Church in this endtime. Also study 1 Cor. 15:52, 1The. 4:16, Matt. 25:31-32, Acts 17:31 and Rev. 20:12-13.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for opening my eyes to behold the truth. Please, help me to live by the truth in Christ Jesus, Amen!

*1. Our Lord Jesus Christ died to pay for my sin, and later ressurrected so that I may have life everlasting. Therefore, I shall resurrect on the last day to sit at His right hand and enjoy an everlasting life.*

*2. By the reason of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am now free from sins, sicknesses and pains.*

*3. I shall not be condemned. My family will not be condemned.*

Our Lord Jesus Christ is not relenting on His resolve to ensure that we all make it to His father's house (heaven) at the end of our journey on Earth. Today's text reminds us of the needs to help people around us who are in dare need. You don't need to wait until you're as rich as Bill Gate before you can help. You don't need to be making millions before you can offer help. There are people around you who you can uplift to the next level by just responding to their phone calls. What of those with no accommodation, water, food, shelter, etc? If you can feed your waste bins, birds and other livestock, what of your neighbour? What of that your sick neighbour, family member, friend, etc.? How many times have you prayed for others? That your fairly used cloth-why did you think is most suited for fire? If you can bless your church members, siblings, customers, etc...what prevents you from extending same to outsiders? There are so many acts of ours we must change this year if we are really ready for the kingdom! 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for another opportunity like this. May Your Grace guide me to turn a new Life in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I am on Earth to serve God will all my life and belongings. Therefore, I will not permit my ego or self to direct me.*

[11]Samuel said, What have you done? Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattering from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines were assembled at Michmash,

Impatient has killed many talents and gifts on Earth. It's among the reasons people often violate road safety laws and die on highways. This is also why many young girls and boys are loosing their virtues and dying carelessly as they engage on illegal businesses,  sale their bodies for wealth, etc. The result is eternal disgrace and lost of opportunities. We can see that in today's message as King Saul lost his throne and kingdom for offering peace offerings he was forbidden to do. And the power was transferred to David. Be careful how live your life on Earth to avoid had I know. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, help me not to make a mistake that could cost my life in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Because I was created in the image and likeness of God, I will forever wait on the God side.*

TEXT: Ezekiel 18:1-20

"...[20]The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die. The son shall not bear and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him only, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon the wicked only."

*SHOWER:*

Brethren, have you ever heard that the problem you are facing or what is befalling someone else could be because of the sins committed by their parents or grandparents? People usually assume this because there are those who committed different atrocities to an extent that their victims cursed them and their future generations; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This was the likelihood of what transpired in Israel which made God to ask question in Verse 2 of the Ezekiel 18; "What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?" God quickly countered such misconception in verse 20 as He explains that no one will suffer because of what his son, father or sibling did. But there are conditions attached to it in further verses of the text. These include that if you must not suffer for the sins of your parents, children or sibling, you must shun the footsteps of the evil ones, be righteous (verse 5 and 9), refrain from idolatry (verse 6), stand for justice and fairness (verse 7), and refrain from greediness (verse 8). Friends, I want to urge you to hearken to this voice from God. There is no way you will see or be troubled by the so-called powers from your father's house once you obey God. Make that choice now!!!

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for this revelation. Please, help me to put them into practice in Jesus name I pray, Amen!

*1. I have surrendered my life to Jesus. He is my God just as I have become His child!*

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14:12-16

"[12]So it is with yourselves; since you are so eager and ambitious to possess spiritual endowments and manifestations of the [Holy] Spirit, [concentrate on] striving to excel and to abound [in them] in ways that will build up the church.

[13]Therefore, the person who speaks in an [unknown] tongue should pray [for the power] to interpret and explain what he says.

[14]For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].

[15]Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also.

[16]Otherwise, if you bless and render thanks with [your] spirit [thoroughly aroused by the Holy Spirit], how can anyone in the position of an outsider or he who is not gifted with [interpreting of unknown] tongues, say the Amen to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? [I Chron. 16:36; Ps. 106:48.]"

*SHOWER:*

Welcome to part 2 of my Spiritual Gifts. We are going to consider why they are necessary. Why our God decided to gift us these even though He is always with us and should be the one doing everything for us? God did these to exalt His name and to make us perfect. In other words, the gifts of God makes the imperfect to become perfect. Thus, He said in verse 12 that they are to build the church. We are the church. When you receive a gift from God, it is expected that the gift will be put into use to uplift souls; to edify the church; to become productive (14); and to reunite. Hence, He is insisting we should seek more of the gifts. That is, if you can speak in tongue, request for the gifts of interpretation too. It's necessary. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I bless Your name. Help me discover and reposses Your Divine gifts in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I'm God's Temple. The gifts of God shall possess me now to edify the Church in Jesus name, Amen!*

*2. From today on, I shall be impacting lives positively for Christ because I have the marks and gifts from God, Amen!*

*3. Therefore, as I am stepping out today, I will never return empty handed. I must win many souls for Christ and possess my possessions. *

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14:1-7

"[1]EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).

[2]For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].

[3]But [on the other hand], the one who prophesies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation.

[4]He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness].

[5]Now I wish that you might all speak in [unknown] tongues, but more especially [I want you] to prophesy (to be inspired to preach and interpret the divine will and purpose). He who prophesies [who is inspired to preach and teach] is greater (more useful and more important) than he who speaks in [unknown] tongues, unless he should interpret [what he says], so that the church may be edified and receive good [from it].

[6]Now, brethren, if I come to you speaking in [unknown] tongues, how shall I make it to your advantage unless I speak to you either in revelation (disclosure of God's will to man) in knowledge or in prophecy or in instruction?

[7]If even inanimate musical instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone [listening] know or understand what is played?."

*SHOWER:*

Brethren, welcome to a brand new day. We concluded our message on unity of purpose or unity to move mountains yesterday. By now you should have know that we need each other to survive. We need unity to win more souls for Christ. Today, we have crossed to a new phase which is about spiritual or Divine gifts. If you study it critically and spiritually you will discover that it is pointing towards the same direction. Our God is telling us to desire, seek, nurture and manifest His gifts. In His infinite mercy, He gave us so many gifts. Some of them identified by our today's Bible passage are teaching/preaching, prophesy, speaking in tongues, interpretation and discernment. They are all needed to make disciples of all nations. They are needed to heal the land, bless the souls, etc. That is why you should not join those who are making mockery of any of the gifts. Wake up! Do you know you have any or many of these? If not, why haven't you discover it? If yes, how are you making use of them? That gift you are abusing today or not using may be why you are not progressing. May God keep us for tomorrow for part 2.

Oh God, I worship You for making it possible for me to know You more. Please keep on streghtening my faith in You in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. O God, I know You're giver of all Divine gifts. I have come to discover Your gifts to me.*

*2. O You gifts from God, my life is available. Envelope me now in the name of Jesus.*

*3. Therefore, as I am stepping out today, I shall manifest the gift of God.*

*4. I hereby decree and declare that the entrance of God's Divine gifts in my life have taken away my problems, pains or agony.*

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:17-23

"[17] If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where [would be the sense of] smell?

[18]But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation.

[19]But if [the whole] were all a single organ, where would the body be?

[20]And now there are [certainly] many limbs and organs, but a single body.

[21]And the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

[22]But instead, there is [absolute] necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak.

[23]And those [parts] of the body which we consider rather ignoble are [the very parts] which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum), which our more presentable parts do not require."

*SHOWER:*

As discussed yesterday, God created everything in our body in double for a purpose. Even if a part denies that it is no longer a part of the body, it will still be part of it naturally. But most importantly, why do you think that God created ears and eyes separately? He should have made the eyes to function as ears too? But He didn't, probably, because He wants to divide the labour accordingly. Division of labour allows works to be carried on at ease, professionally, timely, etc. It brings about specialisation. This is why He also gave us different gifts and talents to work with. Some were endowed for healing, prophesies, preaching, etc. And none could be perfectly done without another. There is none that can also say there is no need of another because they are of the same body ( Rom. 12:4-8; Eph. 4:8, 11-16; Acts 6:1-7; 1 Peter 4:10-11 and 1 Tim. 3:1-13). Have you now see why there are many churches, ministries and so on? If yes, why are you treating Church B or C with disdain? Why do you believe that your profession or talent is better than mine or hers/his? If everyone should become a medical practitioner, who will build the hospital? That very part you neglect is the same part you're going to spend more on tomorrow. Let's value each other and join hands in moving the mountain for Christ. He created all for a purpose.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I have seen why there are my parts in one body. Help me to assimilate Your message and abide by Your words in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. O God, I am now ready to function perfectly in the area You called me in life.*

*2. I cannot be intimidated by anyone or anything. I won't in anyway, intimidate or discriminate against others.*

*3. Therefore, as I am stepping out today, I shall locate the area, the field or unit You want me to function and fit in professionally and spiritually.*

[14]For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many.

[15]If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body?

Our God is wonderful. Have you ever wake up one day to ask yourself why the creator (God) carved out or created two to more things (parts) in your body? He is one God (Gen. 1:1, John 1:3) yet He is so generous that He gave each of us two hands, two legs, two eyes, etc. He made sure that none could function effectively without another (except those with special needs, whom He also provided with special alternatives to live and relate with all comfortably). Have you ever asked yourself why? He went on to tell us to go into the world to multiply, and to preach the Gospel to all Nations. So, why the complaints? Why are we so much divided because of denominational and religious differences, etc. God is telling us today to have a rethink; ponder over the past, today and tomorrow. Together we must serve him in diverse ways because we are from one God, and should serve one God. (We shall talk more on this tomorrow and next).  

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for another opportunity like this. Please help me understand why I am a part of a body so that I can function effectively in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. O God, I am sorry that I allowed my canal mind to make me neglect Your creatures. I am now back and ready to treat all kindly.*

After Samuel anointed Saul as the king of Israel, God gave him another heart. A new heart is a new beginning. A new heart is next level, a skill, power, anointing to do exploits, the Grace of God. Today's passage says that he began to do what he could not do in the past. In fact, he became a new person entirely. Hence, some asked is 'Saul also among the prophets?' All these and more are bound to happen in your life when you receive the anointing to the next level. What is that thing you cannot do now? Get ready. Follow His instructions. Allow Him to use you for His kingdom work. Your family, friends, neighbours and enemies will ask same question on your head.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I have acknowledged Your supremacy, Your Dominion over the world. I have come under Your feet. Use me as Your Divine instrument in Jesus name, Amen!

What do you do when you stumbled upon a product you so much desired in the market? First, you will demand to know know the price. If the price is affordable, you buy it immediately. If not, you probe further about the seller's address, the product and so on. Then reach an agreement with the seller, deposit parts of the money (if accepted); then go home or anywhere to scout for the balance. Today's message compares the kindgom of God to hustle we do almost everyday to feed ourselves, homes, pride or ego. God wants us to always invest our life, time and other resources into the kindgom. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for today's message. I'm sorry for violating it. Please, help me to memorise, understand and apply it accordingly in Jesus name, Amen!

*TODAY’S THEME: My Communion with God*

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 11:24-30.

"[24]And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.

[25]Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.

[26]For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord's death until He comes [again].

[27]So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord.

[28]Let a man [thoroughly] examine himself, and [only when he has done] so should he eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

[29]For anyone who eats and drinks without discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that [it is Christ's] body, eats and drinks a sentence (a verdict of judgment) upon himself.

[30]That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason many of you are weak and sickly, and quite enough of you have fallen into the sleep of death."

*SHOWER:* 

The Holy Communion is a Communion that is Holy. This is not referring to ordinary bread or wine. But it's represented with bread and wine across different Christian denominations. Have you communed with God? Communion is a covenant we enter into with God as Christians (You become a Christian once you're born-again). In fact, you can call it blood covenant. At least Nigerian movies will educate you that entering into blood covenant is a very hard decision. It's usually unbreakable or leads to death once violated in anyway.

Unfortunately, people are abusing the communion. The month is fast coming to an end. Do you still remember your New Year's resolution (s)? What is that covenant you entered with Christ this year? Are you still keeping to them? If not, why? In verse 30 of today's text, we are being reminded of the percussion of not keeping to our covenant (communion) with God. The choice is yours!   

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank You for allowing me to commune with You. I'm sorry for violating it. Please, help me to start keeping to the covenant I have with you in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. O God, I have communed with You. I know that your Communion is covenant. I hereby renew my covenant with You.*

*2. The Grace of God is sufficient unto me. I cannot abuse or violate the God's covenant any longer.*

*SHOWER:* 

Pig is one animal dislikes by many because of its untidy or filthy nature. The environments where they are being reared are generally seen as dirty (even though there are some reared at cleaned pens). Nevertheless, pork meat is scientifically proven to be highly nutritious. Yet people are rejecting it on account that it is not clean outside. People want it to be pure outside and inside. That is an example of what God is demanding from us. He want our yes to be yes, our no to be no. He wants a situation where we are practicing what we preach. He wants us to be pure by heart, words and action. He's not only interested on the type of cloth, shows, makeup or so we put on while coming to church. Not even the amount of money we are giving as offerings, tithes or projects we are executing alone. But to totally surrender to Him.  

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I want to totally surrender myself to You.  Please, help me to know You more. Have mercy on me and allow me to follow you. Let Your grace be sufficient unto me in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. O God, I hereby surrender to You. I am now clean inside and outside to serve God.*

Brethren, God is reminding us of the need to embrace Him, and make Him all our needs in life. In verse thirty one of today's text, we were told to let our works honour or glory God. Verses 32 says this is achievable if we can forsake discrimination, complaints, and others capable of hindering us from serving Him well. Verse 33 crowned it by educating us not to be opinionated, autocratic or god to others. What is still keeping you far from God?

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, the king of kings and Lord of lords. Please, help me to know You more. Help me to submit totally unto You, in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I am serving a living God. I build my walls and foundation in Him.*

*TODAY’S THEME: Compensations of the enemy *

TEXT: 1 Samuel 6:1-6

"[1]THE ARK of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months.

[2]And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? Tell us with what we shall send it to its place.

[3]And they said, If you send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it empty, but at least return to Him a guilt offering. Then you will be healed, and it will be known to you why His hand is not removed [and healing granted you].

[4]Then they said, What shall be the guilt offering which we shall return to Him? They answered, Five golden tumors and five golden mice, according to the number of the Philistine lords, for one plague was on you all, even on your lords.

[5]Therefore you must make images of your tumors and of your mice that destroy the land, and give glory to the God of Israel. Perhaps He will lighten His hand from off you and your gods and your land.

[6]Why then do you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When He had done wonders and made a mock of them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?"

*SHOWER:* 

The Philippines after defeating the Israelites in 1 Samuel Chapter 4 during the reign of Eli and his children, Hophni and Phinehas, took the Ark of God. Bible recorded that God used because of the Ark which sands as sign of the covenant He had with the Israelites, inflicted them (Phillipines) with pains, including destruction of their gods. They had no choice than to make an amend. This came with sacrifice (guilty offerings) as atonement for their sins. Although it was painful that Israelites allowed sins to separate them from God, today's text is assuring us of the diverse benefits we will receive from God once we return to Him. At first, God freed the Philippines from pains and agonies they inflicted on themselves by taken away God's Ark. Secondly, Israelites regained what they lost to the enemy due to sins in multiples even with compensations. Because when one is in Christ old things passes away and New things are abound to happen. So, what is still keeping you? Stand up now to live an everlasting life!!!

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I submit myself to you. Please, forgive me of my sins and restore all I lost to sins, now I am back to serve You, in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I am serving a convenant keeping God. Therefore, I am covered, protected and deeply rooted in Him.*

*2. I hereby decree and declare that as long as I keep my part of the covenant, no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper.*

*3. Even when I go wrong, God shall have mercy on me and shield me under His grace and power.*

*TODAY’S THEME: The testimony of the hypocrites*

TEXT: Matthew 22:15-22

"[15]Then the Pharisees went and consulted and plotted together how they might entangle Jesus in His talk.

[16]And they sent their disciples to Him along with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that You are sincere and what You profess to be and that You teach the way of God truthfully, regardless of consequences and being afraid of no man; for You are impartial and do not regard either the person or the position of anyone.

[17]Tell us then what You think about this: Is it lawful to pay tribute [levied on individuals and to be paid yearly] to Caesar or not?

[18]But Jesus, aware of their malicious plot, asked, Why do you put Me to the test and try to entrap Me, you pretenders (hypocrites)?

[19]Show me the money used for the tribute. And they brought Him a denarius.

[20]And Jesus said to them, Whose likeness and title are these?

[21]They said, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Pay therefore to Caesar the things that are due to Caesar, and pay to God the things that are due to God.

[22]When they heard it they were amazed and marveled; and they left Him and departed."

*SHOWER:* 

The Pharisees, as presented in today's texts, are hypocrites. They are very cunny people who can go to any length to pull you down. One major attribute of the hypocrites is the ability to go extral mile to study, discover and describe people. Verse 15 & 16 of today's text show how far they could go to testify over your life. But do not be carried away. They are all deceptions. All you need is wisdom from above to discover this, be focus and respond or relate with all accordingly.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I submit myself to you. Please, help me to dictate and detest the hypocrites. I don't want to be carried away by their testimonies in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand.*

*2. Therefore, I am not afraid of the gatherings of the enemy, the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day against me. Because I have made the Lord my refuge, and the Most High my dwelling place.*

*3. I shall dictate and defeat the Pharisees and their deceptive testimonies.*

*4. I hereby nullify, jump and pass over all the traps enemies are setting before me today.*

[24]Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.

[25]Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

[26]Therefore I do not run uncertainly (without definite aim). I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary.

[27]But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit]."

*SHOWER:*

Like Paul rightly observed, Sports is one key sector known for its disciplinary measures. It's a place where you see both the participants (athelets) and spectators struggling to keep to the rules. They do this so they could win the prize or avoid been disqualified for any reason. Heavenly race requires more than that because it's prize that lasts for eternity. That's why Paul, in today's text, opines that he denies himself earthly pleasures while striving to attain the prize. What can you not do for heaven? So, it is time for us to think out things we must either forsake or incorporate if we must make heaven.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank you for a day like this. I am ready to risk anything so that I must attain the prize. Please, help me out in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I receive the Grace of God to win this heavenly race. I hereby decree that I'm unstoppable in Jesus name, amen.*

"[24]Meanwhile, there was a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, who came to Ephesus. He was a cultured and eloquent man, well versed and mighty in the Scriptures.

[25]He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and burning with spiritual zeal, he spoke and taught diligently and accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he was acquainted only with the baptism of John.

[26]He began to speak freely (fearlessly and boldly) in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him with them and expounded to him the way of God more definitely and accurately.

[27]And when [Apollos] wished to cross to Achaia (most of Greece), the brethren wrote to the disciples there, urging and encouraging them to accept and welcome him heartily. When he arrived, he proved a great help to those who through grace (God's unmerited favor and mercy) had believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ as Lord and Savior).

[28]For with great power he refuted the Jews in public [discussions], showing and proving by the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah)."

*SHOWER:*

United we stand, divided we fall, is a popular saying which underscores the importance of unity of purpose. It's also believed that a bunch of broom sweeps far better than a stick. The Bible tells us to make a disciple of all nations. Today's Word is reminding us of the need to unite with other brethren in the race to win more souls for Christ. It's painful that some brethren prefer to talk down or castigate other people, ministries or businesses even when they are in the best positions to correct or pave way for them to do exploit. People often engage on this unholy act due to differences in denomination, religion, groups, neighourhood, etc. This is not supposed to be seen among the brethren. We saw how the brethren provided various assistance to Apollos after discovering his knowledge of the Word. In the world of politics, for instance, people who have more politically positioned friends tend to grow and advance higher than others with none. In the business sector, especially among the Igbo of South East Nigeria, the more apprentors or business associates you trained or empowered, the higher you will go or advance your course. If our target is actually heaven, we must strive to assist our brothers, sisters or neighbours to receive Jesus, be grounded in the word and propagate the word accordingly by always calling them to order kindly, when they are going astray, offering necessary corrections, etc.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank you for a day like this. I am sorry for always deviating from your plans for me through my sinful nature. Please, help me to be a hearer and doer of your word. I pray in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Today, the Grace of God is upon me. His mercy shall make way for me. I shall grow from strength to strenght, Grace to Grace.*

*2. By the reason of His command that I should go to the world and make the disciple of all nations, I hereby receive the anointing for exploit in all good things I do.*

*3. I have become an instrument to propagate the words and works of God everywhere. Therefore, everyone I meet must bless me. I shall also be a blessing to others.*

*4. Today, God will favour me mightly. My business, ministries, home and community are favoured.*

*TODAY’S THEME: The mighty day of the Lord*

TEXT: Isaiah 60:13-17

"[13]The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress, the plane, and the pine [trees] together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet glorious.

[14]The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending low to you, and all those who despised you shall bow down at your feet, and they shall call you the City of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

[15]Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you [Jerusalem] an eternal glory, a joy from age to age.

[16]You shall suck the milk of the [Gentile] nations and shall suck the breast of kings; and you shall recognize and know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

[17]Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver; and instead of wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron. [Instead of the tyranny of the present] I will appoint peace as your officers and righteousness as your taskmasters."

*SHOWER:*

In sports, especially boxing and wrestling, people go in with confidence, hope and pride that they must conquer. It's a place where you will see participants jubilating even before the actual game will start. We are expected to exhude more than such kinds of joy with full confidence today because the Almighty God has taken over our case. The God who made it possible for us to see today is saying that we will no longer be forsaken because he has restored our dignity, our destiny and bestowed on us crown of success. Rejoice! Forget your past. Have faith. And all these promises will surely come to pass.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank you for a day like this. I thank you for making  ways for me where their seemed to be no ways. I am claiming all the promises and proclamations you made unto me today in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I hereby decree that the Glory of my family, environs, community and country shall come to me today. Therefore, I am now living and jubilating in the glory of God.*

*2. I will no longer suffer afflictions. God has put to shame those who previously afflicted me with pains and agony. They will turn around, join me in thanking and praising God for restoring my joy.*

*3. God is granting me eternal joy today.*

*4. As I step out today, God's favour and blessings will follow me, crown my efforts and bring me home in glory.*

*5. My God is God of the best not the better. Therefore, I am the best. And shall be the best today and forever, In Jesus name, Amen!*

Prayer before the Word: 

 _O God, I thank you for yet another day. Please, help me to study and work in accordance with your word in Christ Jesus, Amen_ .

*TODAY’S THEME: The Christianity Christ demands from Christians?*

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

"[9] I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually] with unchaste (impure) people–

[10]Not [meaning of course that you must] altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether!

[11]But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person.

[12]What [business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside [the church] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment [passing censuring sentence on them as the facts require]?

[13]God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you [expel him from your church]."

*SHOWER:*

It's unfortunate to note that Christendom is fast becoming a social club or market place. A situation whereby people who claimed to be Christians, study the Word daily, are indulging in immorality, lying, deceit, idolatory, etc. You may ask how? Many do this on phone, Social Media, and others. You worship idols knowingly or unknowingly when you take or position your business, self, family and so on above God. What do you expect the unbelievers to do when these kind of evil acts are seen among us? That your career, business, talent or gifts of yours, how do you utilise them? That is why Paul, in today's text, is advising us to disassociate ourselves from unholy acts (not really from the people). But in doing this, he also wants us to apply wisdom. That's why in verses 12 and 13, we are further adviced not to judge others but to flew away from evil acts, as well as discipline members (brethrens) found to be indulging in them so they would receive Christ. This is necessary because he whose house is on fire does not chase after roddents. We must be holy because our God is holy. This was why the likes of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11) died for telling lies over their own wealth. There should be no sinfulness among us.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Oh God, I thank you for today's message. I'm sorry for desecrating your house in anywhere. Please, give me the grace and wisdom to live like Christ I profess in Jesus name I pray, Amen!

*1. My life is now in Christ. I am ready to live as a practical Christian.*

*2. I receive the Grace and power from God to live like Christ, and profess Christ in truth and honesty.*

*3. I hereby pledge to ensure that the Church of God is serving the purpose in which it was founded on Earth and me.*

*4. As I step out today, no principality or power will ever prevail against me or use me against anyone.*

*5. God has empowered me to shine. I have risen to shine. In Jesus name, Amen!*
