Prayer before the Word: 

 _ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_ 

TODAY’S TOPIC: Be watchful

Text: Luke 21: 29-36 (NIV): 

"21:29.  He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees.

21:30.  When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.

21:31.  Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.

21:32.  "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

21:33.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

21:34. "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.

21:35.  For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.

21:36.  Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

SHOWER (Reflection):

You must be watchful in you all do in life. To be watchful entails been prayerful, keen and observance in life. You must be at an alert if you have expected the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ because the scripture says He will come like a thief; when you less expected. And that heaven and earth may pass away but every word He uttered must surely come to fruition. So, get ready by living a righteous life, charity life, showing love and prayerful. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I'm watchful because You're watchful. Uplift and direct me accordingly so that I won't fail in Jesus name, Amen. 

2. God has shown me favour and grace. I will forever follow Him to end; trusting that I will surpass all and get stronger . 

3. In this month of August, everywhere I touch shall become clean. Everywhere I match shall become mine. I must possess my possessions in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Growing the flocks 

Text: Romans 15:14-22 (NIV): 

"15:14. I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.

15:15. I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me

15:16. to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

15:17. Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God.

15:18. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done--

15:19. by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

15:20. It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation.

15:21. Rather, as it is written: "Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand."

15:22. This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you."

SHOWER (Reflection):

How do unlock your gift and lead your flock? Flocks or sheep are those God has given us to minister to and bring back to His vineyard. If you are minister at home, in the churches, etc. try to be truthful. Don't speak what you were not told. But more importantly, Paul is urging us to take that message to those who don't know Christ yet. So, after studying the word today, move out to conquer your world for the Christ. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I have agreed to minister in vineyard. Empower me to overcome the spirit of I too know and pride so that I may succeed in life, Amen. 

2. I bear the mark of Christ, Jesus. I will go higher and no retrogress because He in me is bigger than He in the world.  

3. In this month of August, I will keep soaring higher. Any spirit, principality or power that could arise against my ministry shall die in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Excuses that kill vision

Text: Haggai 1:2-11  (NIV): 

"1:2. This is what the LORD Almighty says: "These people say, 'The time has not yet come for the LORD'S house to be built.'"

1:3.  Then the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai:

1:4.  "Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?"

1:5.  Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways.

1:6.  You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it."

1:7.  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways.

1:8.  Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the LORD.

1:9.  "You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the LORD Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house.

1:10.  Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.

1:11.  I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the oil and whatever the ground produces, on men and cattle, and on the labor of your hands."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Be wary or careful of excuses you give on daily or timely basis. Many have through this, lost God's favour and blessings. You have an opportunity to give offering, build or decorate God's house or that of your neighbour. So, why still postponing it? The Spirit of procrastination has killed so many visions. In verses 5 and 9, God through the mouth of Prophet Haggai warned us to look inward to look inward and make an amend. That your prayers whose answers were delayed could be because of your procrastination. In verses 10 and 11, God specifically says He withheld all these because you are yet to do the right thing at the right time. Be careful and turn a new leaf before is too late. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, help me to overcome the spirit of procrastination and excuses. In You I trust so that I may live to fulfill my destiny. 

2. I bear the mark of Christ, Jesus. I will go higher and no retrogress because He in me is bigger than He in the world.  

3. In this month of August, I will keep soaring higher. My lifestyle, neighbours and enemies cannot stop me from wearing the crown in Jesus name I prophesy unto myself, Amen!!!

Beware of Green Snakes

TODAY’S TOPIC: Beware of green Snakes  

Text: Luke 20: 20-26 (NIV): 

"20:20.  Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be honest. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.

20:21.  So the spies questioned him: "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.

20:22.  Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

20:23.  He saw through their duplicity and said to them,

20:24.  "Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it?"

20:25.  "Caesar's," they replied. He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

20:26.  They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Snakes are naturally venomous no matter how you view them. And by their sizes, movements and other attributes, you can easily identify them. However, there are some snakes you cannot easily identify. They are called green Snakes living under green vegetations. They can easily hide under a leaf or stem of a plant, waiting for someone to devour. Pharisees and Sadducees played that role here. Having made up their minds to kill Jesus, they embarked on evidence searching. Their interest became what Jesus could say against their belief so they could use that to kill him. Unfortunately to them, our Lord Jesus knew them and all that concerns them. Hence, he identified their plans before it was nurtured and quickly told them to give to God what is meant for Him and their Caeser what is for him. There are people like that all over the world. Some will come with sugar coated tongues. Others with gifts and so on. You can only identify them when you are on fire. Then, flee for your life otherwise you loose all you have.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, help me to expose and destroy green Snakes under green vegetations, Amen. 

2. I'm in Christ in Jesus. I won't be trapped by green Snakes no matter what they try to capture me, Amen.

3. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the month of August will continue to bow for me so that I will regain all I have lost this year, Amen!!!
