Prayer before the Word:

TODAY’S TOPIC: The superiority of love

Text: Romans 13:8-14 (NIV): 

"13:8.  Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

13:9.  The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

13:10.  Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

13:11.  And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

13:12.  The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

13:13.  Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

13:14.  Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Yesterday, we reflected on why we must confess our sins and move ahead. Today, we shall look at the Superiority of love. Love is one of the most pronounced word on daily basis. But many don't actually understand what it is all about or how to love. Today, God wants us to understand how and why to love. He says in verse 8 and 9 that we must love because it is a debt we owe one another, the debt we owe God, and only way we can fulfill the laws (ten commandments, constitutions of the world, nations, organisations). Yes. It is only when you love your neighbour that you will give to him what is due to him or not, etc. It continues in verse 10, then in verse 11, it reminds us about our salvation, and the reasons to be light in verse 12. On 13 and 14, He told us to flee from sins of immortality, drunkenness and others. Embrace Jesus today and shine forth. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I believe in You. I will keep pushing to love and become an ambassador of love of God. Rekindle Your light of love in me. 

2. The light of God is in me. He has set on fire every darkness in me and around me, and matches me forward to attain the crown of purity and prosperity in Jesus name, Amen.

3. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, July 2022 shall not end without manifestations of all the God's glory to me. I will not end with the month of July, rather I will see, live and enjoy the greater part of August and beyond in Jesus name, Amen!!!

Confess and be saved

Prayer before the Word: 

 _ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and having dust on their heads.9:2Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the wickedness of their fathers.9:3They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the LORD their God.9:4Standing on the stairs were the Levites--Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani and Kenani--who called with loud voices to the LORD their God.9:5And the Levites--Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah--said: "Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting." "Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. me with Your unmerited favour. Show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus  name, Amen_ 

TODAY’S TOPIC: Confess and be saved

Text: Nehemiah 9:1-5 (NIV): 

"9:1. On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and having dust on their heads.

9:2. Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the wickedness of their fathers.

SHOWER (Reflection):

Welcome to a new day. When you have tried all things unsuccessfully, try  as much as possible to confess your sin. It could be the way God has destined to change your story from sorrow to joy. If you read died to the end, you will see the miracles that follow. Genuine repentance is necessary in the kingdom fight. Just confess Him S your saviour and serve Him all through. You won't regret e it. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, make me a new being. Help me to confess and not returning.

2. I'm a child of God. Everything about me will never be subjected to the power of devil and its agents 

3. In Jesus I trust. Therefore, I hereby declare and decree open door and greatness upon my life in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Overcoming evil with good

Text: Romans 12:9-21 (NIV): 

"12:9.  Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

12:10.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

12:11.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.12:12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

12:13.  Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

12:14.  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

12:15.  Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

12:16.  Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

12:17.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

12:18.  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

12:19.  Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

12:20.  On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

12:21.  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Love is a serious topic to be discussed anywhere and by at all times. To love is to show affection, appreciate, live with all in peace, accommodating, etc. Christ is telling us today to learn to show love to all especially our supposed enemies. That is; loving those who hated us. Love is not only about loving those who loved or do only what you want. What of our Lord Jesus, He loved us despite our shortcomings. That is why we must reciprocate. Hence He taught us to love one another as we loved ourselves. Have you ever stopped eating before your body didn't allow you to work or eat? King David displayed it a lot towards King Saul and others. Let us embrace the virtue now. It gives an open door, healing and prosperity.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God! Let Your mercy and grace jack me higher above others so that I won't miss heaven at last.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Give and receive from above

Text: Luke 18:18-26  (NIV): 

"18:18.  A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

18:19. "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.

18:20. You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.'"

18:21. "All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said.

18:22. When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

18:23. When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth.

18:24. Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

18:25. Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

18:26. Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?"

18:27. Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Our God has proven that indeed there is nothing impossible before Him. People around him were astonished when He commanded the 'wiseman' to sale his property and follow. Once you're in Christ Jesus, you have nothing. God is with us. It is also showing why is important to give. If you don't do, you will likely be losing them at hospitals and others.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O merciful father, I'm overwhelmed. Please and cover my life again is Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: God is always merciful

Text: Romans 11:25-32 (NIV): 

"11:25.  I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

11:26.  And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

11:27.  And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."

11:28.  As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,

11:29.  for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

11:30.  Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,11:31.  so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.

11:32.  For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all."

SHOWER (Reflection):

God may have mercy on us. He choose to have mercy on those He wished to have mercy on. All those who believe in Him and work to obtain righteousness. Just embrace Him now. He is going to make a way for His people.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God! Give me grace and strength to love those who hate me, Amen.

2. Today, I shall triumph over my challenges. There is no weapon fashioned against me that will ever mature let alone prosper in Jesus name, Amen.

*3. I hereby decree and declare God's favour and upliftment upon me as I show love to those who hate me in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Return good to evil

Text: 1 John 3: 13-24 (NIV): 

"3:13. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

3:14. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

3:15. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

3:16. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

3:17. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

3:19. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence

3:20. whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

3:21. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

3:22. and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

3:23. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

3:24. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Hurrah for we have come to a new day the Lord has made. Today is great because God wants us to know and live a good life. Our today's scripture wants us to live like Christ. That is; to show love to all. Don't hate those who hate you or love only those who loved you. What do you gain when you give only to those who love you? If you accept people hatred, and pray to God; He will prosper and empower you to do exploit. Try it today and see.
