Prayer before the Word: 

 _ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_ 

TODAY’S TOPIC: Go, shine in the month of October

Text: Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV): 

"61:1. The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

61:2. to proclaim the year of the LORD'S favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

61:3. and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Children of God, welcome to the month of October. This is October to remember. Our God has brought us to make disciples of nations. He anointed us to set the captives free, preach good news, comfort the afflicted and crown those who are ready to use the crown for His purpose. This is not the month to fear or run away. Allow the oil of favour to work in your life. Only what will save you this month is doing His will. Be vigilant, be peaceful, be prayerful. God will never forsake you. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I thank You for gift of life, health and joy to witness the month of October. I promise to be loyal and celebrate with all this month in Jesus name, amen.

2. October is my mother to be favoured, crowned and uplifted. Therefore, whatever that will stand on my way this month is hereby set on fire of Holy ghost in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. I shall be a giver this month. I will give joy, money, love and care to people around me as I receive them constantly from God in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Conflicts of the Doctrines and the Church

Text: Acts 15:12-21 (NIV): 

"15:12. The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.

15:13. When they finished, James spoke up: "Brothers, listen to me.

15:14. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.

15:15. The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

15:16. "'After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it,

15:17. that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things'

15:18. that have been known for ages.15:19. "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.

15:20. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

15:21. For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Some brethren seemed to be loosing out the battle to save a lost soul. These they do with their teachings of doctrines instead of the salvation. There are those concerned on how to gather more members to their churches; so as to increase their offerings, tithing and contributions boxes. We have used this worldliness to loose many brethren who agreed to follow us. It is a pathetic situation. We must be wise. And wisely keep off from every acts that can make us loose the kingdom on the last day.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I am sorry for failing You in the gospel this month. Give me the grace to carry on and go higher in Your services as we step in the month of October in Jesus name, amen.

2. I must not become a victim of Ember month. God will continue to make ways for me even where there are nowhere in  Jesus name, Amen!.

3. Today is my day. I must gather all that God destined for me today before 11.59am. God is giving me victory and solution to all my challenges and problems in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Downfall of a proud

Text: 1 King 20:17 -21 (NIV): 

"20:17. The young officers of the provincial commanders went out first. Now Ben-Hadad had dispatched scouts, who reported, "Men are advancing from Samaria."

20:18. He said, "If they have come out for peace, take them alive; if they have come out for war, take them alive."

20:19. The young officers of the provincial commanders marched out of the city with the army behind them

20:20. and each one struck down his opponent. At that, the Arameans fled, with the Israelites in pursuit. But Ben-Hadad king of Aram escaped on horseback with some of his horsemen.

20:21. The king of Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Proverb says the proud says to himself that there is no God. This best describes the situation here. If you study from the beginning of 1king 20:1 forward, you will see that the Israelites were on their when King Ben-hadad came threatening. At last, God put him to shame. Brethren, never lose faith or fear when the enemy is troubling you. Summon courage and contact God to find out from Him the solution. He would surely give you the victory. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, the month of September is almost gone. Please, fast-forward all my delayed blessings hidden anywhere on earth or heaven in Jesus name, amen.

2. Father, the enemy is troubling me. They are threatening me day and night; boasting that my God is nothing. O God, arise and show them that You are my great God. In  Jesus name, Amen!.

3. O You month of October, get ready to show forth all that God buried in you for me in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Make everyone your neighbour

Text: Luke 10:25-37 (NIV): 

"10:25. On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

10:26. "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

10:27. He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

10:28. "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

10:29. But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

10:30. In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

10:31. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

10:32. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

10:33. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

10:34. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

10:35. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

10:36. "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

10:37. The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Do not maltreat or ignore anyone for any reason. God created all equal before Him. God wants us to love our neighbour. To Him, everyone should be our neighbour. This goes beyond physical or dictionary meaning of neighbors. If you can treat someone you know or someone who lives close to your house as a king, why won't treat others same way? That person may become your helper tomorrow. So show them love too. God created us all. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, give me the grace to identify and show love to all as I do to my neighbour, especially those presumed to have nothing to pay back in Jesus name, amen.

2. O Jesus, Yours I am. Yours I want to become forever. I submit myself for You to utilise to propagate and win more souls financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. O You month of September, think twice. Dig more and bring out all the blessings and miracles God destined for me this month. You shall not end without releasing all that God purposed for me in Jesus name, Amen.
