Rain down, O heavens, from above. Let the clouds pour down righteousness[all the blessings of God]. Let the earth open up, let salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it; I, the Lord, have created it (Isaiah 45:8).

He found the people who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at their tables. He made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; then to those who sold the doves He said, “Take these things away! Stop making My Father’s house a place of commerce! John 2: 13-16

Worry not

DAILY SHOWER September 9, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Worry not

Text: Matthew 6:25-34 (NIV):

"6:25. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

6:26. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

6:27. Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

6:28. "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

6:29. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

6:30. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

6:31. So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

6:32. For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

6:33. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

6:34. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

SHOWER (Reflection):

He who is in us is greater and higher than he who is in the world. You should learn from this. The bible says we should think less of tomorrow for it will surely take care of itself. Majority of us in Nigeria are facing this problem. How can you think of tomorrow which you don't even know you will live to see? Get the God Almighty first. Then other things shall be added unto you.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, You're my number one in all aspect of me and my family. Thanks for the gift of life and more You will do to me in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, as I step into Your throne of mercy, I shall be a mountain winner again and again in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. My physical and spiritual wealth, receive the fire of God. Locate me now and tomorrow in  Jesus name, Amen.

Stand by your oath

DAILY SHOWER September 8, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Stand by your oath

Text: 1 Kings 1: 28-27 (NIV):

"1:28. Then King David said, "Call in Bathsheba." So she came into the king's presence and stood before him.

1:29. The king then took an oath: "As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of every trouble,

1:30. I will surely carry out today what I swore to you by the LORD, the God of Israel: Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne in my place."

1:31. Then Bathsheba bowed low with her face to the ground and, kneeling before the king, said, "May my lord King David live forever!"

1:32. King David said, "Call in Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet and Benaiah son of Jehoiada." When they came before the king,

1:33. he said to them: "Take your lord's servants with you and set Solomon my son on my own mule and take him down to Gihon.

1:34. There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel. Blow the trumpet and shout, 'Long live King Solomon!'

1:35. Then you are to go up with him, and he is to come and sit on my throne and reign in my place. I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah."

1:36. Benaiah son of Jehoiada answered the king, "Amen! May the LORD, the God of my lord the king, so declare it.

1:37. As the LORD was with my lord the king, so may he be with Solomon to make his throne even greater than the throne of my lord King David!"

SHOWER (Reflection):

At sermon on the beatitude, one words of advice Jesus gave us was to make sure our yes is yes, and our no is no by not swearing with anything, including our hair. Today's scripture shows same as King David ensured that his words were not undermined even at an old age. He promised to make Solomon king after his rein and kept it despite the various challenges from Absalom and Adonijah, who at various times claimed kingship over the Israel. The lesson from this is not to make promise one cannot stand to ensure it fulfilment. Another one is to stand always by what you believe or promised. And persistent as exhibited by Bathsheba. Let's imbibe these and other good virtues so as to prosper physically and spiritually in Jesus name, Amen.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, endow me with wisdom and resources to only make a promise I can stand to ensure its fulfilment in Jesus name, Amen.

2. I am God's temple. I was created in His image and likeness. Therefore, everything He promised me must surely come to pass He does not lie, look backward nor slumber. In  Jesus name, Amen!.

3. As I match forward, my family, business, career, talents and all that concerns me must match forward in Jesus name, Amen.

Practical Christian living

DAILY SHOWER September 7, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Practical Christian living

Text: Matthew 6:1-10 (NIV):

"6:1. Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

6:2. "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

6:3. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

6:4. so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

6:5. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

6:6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

6:7. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

6:8. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

6:9. "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

6:10. your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Men and women ought to pray always. We are also required to show charity, love and care to all irrespective of age, position, social or economic status. We are confronted with the most important aspects of life. Prayer! God wants us to pray without season; to pray because we want to pray and because we must pray; not to be seen, noticed or celebrated because we can pray. Unfortunately, that is what is now practised by many on earth. It also instructed us to show charity works to those who will not remember to pay back; those who actually need help and so on. Try this and remain blessed.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I thank You for today's teaching. Help me to live a practical Christian life through charity, prayer and lifestyle change in Jesus name, Amen.

2. I must win a soul for Christ today through my behaviour and resources in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. O you month of September, be quick to release God's bountiful blessings to me in Jesus name, Amen.

Do not castigate God

DAILY SHOWER September 6, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC:  Do not castigate God

Text: Job 22:1-11 (NIV):

"22:1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:

22:2. "Can a man be of benefit to God? Can even a wise man benefit him?

22:3. What pleasure would it give the Almighty if you were righteous? What would he gain if your ways were blameless?

22:4. "Is it for your piety that he rebukes you and brings charges against you?

22:5. Is not your wickedness great? Are not your sins endless?

22:6. You demanded security from your brothers for no reason; you stripped men of their clothing, leaving them naked.

22:7. You gave no water to the weary and you withheld food from the hungry,

22:8. though you were a powerful man, owning land--an honored man, living on it.

22:9. And you sent widows away empty-handed and broke the strength of the fatherless.

22:10. That is why snares are all around you, why sudden peril terrifies you,

22:11. why it is so dark you cannot see, and why a flood of water covers you."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Job when tempted by devil tried all they could to frustrate God. But Job insisted and at last, He won. What would have become of Him if he had listened to the situation that befelled him. Hence, we must not relent in serving.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. I am not perfect O God. I will move higher today and tomorrow with fear or favour in  Jesus name, Amen.

2. I move out this week to win souls for Christ. I will always go out and return filled spiritually and otherwise in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. O Jesus, I will not rest untill You terminate the lives of my enemies. Anything that wants to obstruct me from gaining what was ordained for me this week is hereby set on fire of the Holy ghost in Jesus name, Amen.

Overcoming the ministry of food

DAILY SHOWER September 5, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC:  Overcoming the ministry of food

Text: Acts 6:1-7 (NIV):

"6:1. In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.

6:2. So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

6:3. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them

6:4. and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."

6:5. This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

6:6. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

6:7. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith."

SHOWER (Reflection):

The ministry of food is fast becoming a norm in our society. The world no longer think of eternal life. But what will set food on their tables daily. Well, food is not a bad thing. We are created to eat so as to be physically fit just as we are spiritually fit. We also need to gather more members we are to onward pray and convert. However, the way it is fast taken over the church is worrisome. Many currently dwell in prosperity. Today's scripture taught us best way to settle this case so that the works of God will prosper. When you notice this problem, kindly departmentalize the ministry to get people fix and specialise on different areas of endeavours. You then go ahead with the message of salvation.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, give me a discerning mind to find out and fix every challenge confronting my ministry so that Your gospel will reach the hard to reach people in Jesus name, Amen.

Draw closer to reap in Joy

DAILY SHOWER September 4, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Draw closer to reap in Joy

Text: Matthew 11:25-30 (NIV):

"11:25. At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

11:26. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

11:27. "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

11:28. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

11:29. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

11:30. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Our great God is calling us today to draw closer and reap the fruit of faithfulness. He is faithful. He is fidelity; keep to His word. Our God doesn't discriminate or remember past sins. Once you're forgiven, you are forgiven. All you need is to surrender yourself to him. He will take away your yoke: burdens, problems, sins, bankruptcy, crisis, etc. He will then restore your joy. Do not forget to hearken to this message. He is truly ready to transform you.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God I have surrendered myself to You. Take away my yoke and give me joy everlasting in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O Jesus, because You took away my sins through Your death on the cross, I will not die again. I am rising to conquer my conquerors in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. O you September, loose yourself and restore to me all that God destined for me this month in Jesus name, Amen.
