Daily Shower is here for propagating the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Rain down, O heavens, from above. Let the clouds pour down righteousness[all the blessings of God]. Let the earth open up, let salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it; I, the Lord, have created it (Isaiah 45:8).

He found the people who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at their tables. He made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; then to those who sold the doves He said, “Take these things away! Stop making My Father’s house a place of commerce! John 2: 13-16

Strangers for Christ

DAILY SHOWER May 14, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I thank You for today. Please open my eyes that I may know You and walk accordingly in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Strangers for Christ

Text: 1 Peter 1: 13-19 (NIV):

"1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

1:14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

1:15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;

1:16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.

1:18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,

1:19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."

*SHOWER:*

When one is in Christ he is a new creature and old things have passed away. Today's scripture is telling us to return to Him and unto Him alone. It says we must be Holy because Christ is Holy. To be holy entails to forsake the things of the world and embrace only what Christ wants.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I thank You for today's word. Please empower me to be doer of the word in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My God is Holy. Therefore, I must be Holy. And live a Holy life.

*2. I will lack nothing because God of Holiness is forever showing me the way, the truth and the life

*3. I hereby decree and declare that with God by my side everything I need to excel in life has been granted me in Jesus name, Amen.*

Building Confidence in Christ

DAILY SHOWER May 13, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I honour Your Holy name for a gift of life today. Please open my mind to understand Your word and apply them accordingly in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Building Confidence in Christ

Text: Acts 25:1-11 (NIV):

"25:1 Three days after arriving in the province, Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem,

25:2 where the chief priests and Jewish leaders appeared before him and presented the charges against Paul.

25:3 They urgently requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.

25:4 Festus answered, "Paul is being held at Caesarea, and I myself am going there soon.

25:5 Let some of your leaders come with me and press charges against the man there, if he has done anything wrong."

25:6 After spending eight or ten days with them, he went down to Caesarea, and the next day he convened the court and ordered that Paul be brought before him

25:7 When Paul appeared, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing many serious charges against him, which they could not prove.

25:8 Then Paul made his defense: "I have done nothing wrong against the law of the Jews or against the temple or against Caesar."

25:9 Festus, wishing to do the Jews a favor, said to Paul, "Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and stand trial before me there on these charges?"

25:10 Paul answered: "I am now standing before Caesar's court, where I ought to be tried. I have not done any wrong to the Jews, as you yourself know very well.

25:11 If, however, I am guilty of doing anything deserving death, I do not refuse to die. But if the charges brought against me by these Jews are not true, no one has the right to hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!"

*SHOWER:*

Every true Christian must build a confidence in Christ Jesus. When you have confidence in Him, you can easily preach the gospel, go about your normal duties without fear or favour even at a gunpoint. That is what Paul has done here in verses 11. He insisted that he was ready to die for Christ sake. And it did happened.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I pray You to me to do Your will in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I am the child of God. I cannot fear or run away from my responsibilities when confronted with the world.

*2. I shall not die but live to praise God.

*3. I hereby decree and declare that with God by my side, I shall remain a conqueror in all areas of my life in Jesus name, Amen.*

Dissociate yourself to excel

DAILY SHOWER May 12, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I have come before You to learn more. Direct me and refill me with Your words in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Dissociate yourself to excel

Text: Exodus 34:10-15 (NIV):

"34:10 Then the LORD said: 'I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the LORD, will do for you.

34:11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

34:12 Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.

34:13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.

34:14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

34:15 "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.

*SHOWER:*

The Bible suggest we should run away from every appearance of evil. It is not saying we should discriminate. But that we should not connect them as friends, join them to executing evil acts, etc. Because we have covenant with Him, God who is jealousy. By doing this, blessings await us in Jesus name, amen

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I pray You to strengthen me so that I may not turn away from serving You alone in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Empower me, O God. Uplift me, my God. O

in the blood of Jesus Christ, the Grace and Mercy of God, I will keep going higher in life. I will never be a disappointment to my generation.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare that I shall continue to be the head and not the tail in Jesus name, Amen.*

That you may live longer

DAILY SHOWER May 11, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I have come before You to learn more. Direct me and refill me with Your words in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: That you may live longer

Text: Deuteronomy 11:2-9 (NIV):

"11:1 Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.

11:2 Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the LORD your God: his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm;

11:3 the signs he performed and the things he did in the heart of Egypt, both to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his whole country;

11:4 what he did to the Egyptian army, to its horses and chariots, how he overwhelmed them with the waters of the Red Sea as they were pursuing you, and how the LORD brought lasting ruin on them.

11:5 It was not your children who saw what he did for you in the desert until you arrived at this place,

11:6 and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth right in the middle of all Israel and swallowed them up with their households, their tents and every living thing that belonged to them.

11:7 But it was your own eyes that saw all these great things the LORD has done.

11:8 Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,

11:9 and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your forefathers to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey."

*SHOWER:*

Today's scripture is summarily harping on why we must love our God and keep to His commands. It says it was for us to prosper and live longer in the land He's given us. So many people have wallowed in an abject poverty, struggled and had nothing to eat or jubilate about. At a last count, God decided to show mercy on them by uplifting them again. I don't know if you are one of them? If yes, retrace your footsteps and follow the God who lifted you to that seat. This is necessary because there is rule to every thing. If you come to rent a house or shop now, the landlord or shop owner, is usually issuing certain laws to you. Once you err, he or she has a right to sanction you for that. That is why our God is warning us to love Him alone so that we will live longer life, enjoy the land (business, offices, promotions, family, etc.).

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I pray You to strengthen me so that I may not turn away from serving You alone in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Empower me, O God. Uplift me, my God. Shower me with Your blessings and give me laws. I pray not to turn away from You.*

*2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, the Grace and Mercy of God, I will keep going higher in life. I will never be a disappointment to my generation.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare that I shall continue to be the head and not the tail in Jesus name, Amen.*

Beware of dishonest Christians

DAILY SHOWER May 10, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, open my eyes that I may know You and work according to Your will in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Beware of dishonest Christians

Text: Titus 1:10- 16 (NIV):

"1:10 For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group.

1:11 They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

1:12 Even one of their own prophets has said, "Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons."

1:13 This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith

1:14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth.

1:15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

1:16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

*SHOWER:*

Christian is a word people of Antioch used to describe the apostles of Christ because they were behaving like Christ. They were praying, performing miracles, gifting the needies, etc. just like Christ is known for. As a result, they were pronounced "Christlike" people (Christians). So, it may not be wise to say that anyone is a dishonest Christian because Christ is a honest person. But truly looking at what is happening in the world today, you would no doubt discover that we have people we can describe as dishonest Christians. They are not worthy to be called Christians due to their behaviour. They are in our churches, ministries, prayer groups, and so on doing host of things with self efforts, self helps acquired from gods, etc. You will discover them from their behaviours and keep off, rebuke or correct them accordingly. That is what today's scripture is telling us. Verse 16 of our today's passage said they claimed to know God but by their behaviours you will see that they denied Christ. You must beware of these set of people so they won't corrupt or lure you to move astray.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I thank You for today. Please give a discerning heart so that I may know the truth and the truth shall set me free in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My God is a wise God. He has made me to become wise. Therefore, nothing will make me fall to the hands of dishonest people.*

*2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I will always stand out from the crowd. Nothing, no one, not even the principalities and powers will bring me down.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare that I shall fulfill my destiny in life. My destiny helpers must locate me to speed up the process because my God has made it to be so in Jesus name, Amen.*

The enemy and pay back y

DAILY SHOWER May 9, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I commit myself unto Your kingdom work today. Open my eyes to understand Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: The enemy and pay back time

Text: 1Samuel 26:13-25  (NIV):

"26:13 Then David crossed over to the other side and stood on top of the hill some distance away; there was a wide space between them.

26:14 He called out to the army and to Abner son of Ner, "Aren't you going to answer me, Abner?" Abner replied, "Who are you who calls to the king?"

26:15 David said, "You're a man, aren't you? And who is like you in Israel? Why didn't you guard your lord the king? Someone came to destroy your lord the king.

26:16 What you have done is not good. As surely as the LORD lives, you and your men deserve to die, because you did not guard your master, the LORD'S anointed. Look around you. Where are the king's spear and water jug that were near his head?"

26:17 Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is that your voice, David my son?" David replied, "Yes it is, my lord the king."

26:18 And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of?

26:19 Now let my lord the king listen to his servant's words. If the LORD has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, men have done it, may they be cursed before the LORD! They have now driven me from my share in the LORD'S inheritance and have said, 'Go, serve other gods.'

26:20 Now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. The king of Israel has come out to look for a flea--as one hunts a partridge in the mountains."

26:21 Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Because you considered my life precious today, I will not try to harm you again. Surely I have acted like a fool and have erred greatly."

26:22 "Here is the king's spear," David answered. "Let one of your young men come over and get it.

26:23 The LORD rewards every man for his righteousness and faithfulness. The LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the LORD'S anointed.

26:24 As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and deliver me from all trouble."26:25Then Saul said to David, "May you be blessed, my son David; you will do great things and surely triumph." So David went on his way, and Saul returned home.

*SHOWER:*

When one is in Christ he will be unstoppable. Sometimes we regard certain people as our enemies; then pray, execute evil or sponsor evil. But here is David. When God committed Saul unto His hand, he (David) declined from killing him. We must be ready and prepare to face this kind of test. No one should be your enemy expecially in academic.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I thank You for today. I pray for Your everlasting joy in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My God is a joyful giver of life. Therefore, I will praise Him while working in His vineyard.*

*2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I will overcome all challenges the devil has posed on my way.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare that God has enriched me coast. I shall be a winner and not a looser in Jesus name, Amen.*

Rebuilding with joy

DAILY SHOWER May 7, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_O God, I worship You for yet another opportunity You offered me to go Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Rebuilding with Joy

Text: Ezra 3:7-13 (NIV):

"3:7 Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.

3:8 In the second month of the second year after their arrival at the house of God in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Jeshua son of Jozadak and the rest of their brothers (the priests and the Levites and all who had returned from the captivity to Jerusalem) began the work, appointing Levites twenty years of age and older to supervise the building of the house of the LORD.

3:9 Jeshua and his sons and brothers and Kadmiel and his sons (descendants of Hodaviah) and the sons of Henadad and their sons and brothers--all Levites--joined together in supervising those working on the house of God.

3:10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the LORD, as prescribed by David king of Israel.

3:11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD: "He is good; his love to Israel endures forever." And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

3:12 But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.

3:13 No one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy from the sound of weeping, because the people made so much noise. And the sound was heard far away.

*SHOWER:*

When the people of Israelites had returned to rebuild their temple as instructed approved by King Cyrus, different people were assigned different tasks for ease delivery of the work. But most importantly, the scripture said they sang and praised God as they were working. That is most important thing because our God loves praises. We should learn how to adore His name in all situations. And You will see your plans been perfected, your dreams realised in Jesus name, Amen.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

*2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I will overcome all challenges the devil has posed on my way.*
