TODAY’S TOPIC: Why you shouldn't panic  

Text: Ezekiel 18:1-4 (NIV):

"18:1. The word of the LORD came to me:

18:2. "What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: "'The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge'?

18:3. "As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.

18:4. For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die."

SHOWER (Reflection):

You need not panic because you are child of God. He has set us free from the sins committed by our parents. And he who has been set free is free indeed. Even if your parents were evil, all you need is total repentance. Our God will redeem and declare you free from the consequences of those evils committed by your parents or siblings or spouse or children. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God arise, set me free from evil foundation laid by my parents...in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I must match to my promised land this year wether the enemy likes it or not...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. That marriage, job, contract, education or project destined for me this year shall not bypass me in Jesus name, amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Do not celebrate amiss  

Text: 2 Samuel 4:5-12 (NIV):

4:5. "Now Recab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, set out for the house of Ish-Bosheth, and they arrived there in the heat of the day while he was taking his noonday rest.

4:6. They went into the inner part of the house as if to get some wheat, and they stabbed him in the stomach. Then Recab and his brother Baanah slipped away.

4:7. They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.

4:8. They brought the head of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, "Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to take your life. This day the LORD has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring."

4:9. David answered Recab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, "As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of all trouble,

4:10. when a man told me, 'Saul is dead,' and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag. That was the reward I gave him for his news!

4:11. How much more--when wicked men have killed an innocent man in his own house and on his own bed--should I not now demand his blood from your hand and rid the earth of you!"

4:12. So David gave an order to his men, and they killed them. They cut off their hands and feet and hung the bodies by the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-Bosheth and buried it in Abner's tomb at Hebron."

SHOWER (Reflection):

 Beware of your actions towards people especially those you trust. If care is not taken, many may kill you with their stupidity. They come with emotional thoughts to arrest you. If you resist them, you shall be celebrated. David, in our today's bible passage, was able to resist them. He did this not minding various plans of king Saul to  kill or harm him while alive. Now when his followers killed an innocent man thinking that David will jubilate. But he resisted that in order to respect and keep to his promises. That is what defines a true Christian. Let's rise and serve God in a similar love.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, my father, do not allow me to celebrate amiss God's plan for me no matter what the world present to me ...in Jesus name,  Ame Jesus name, Amen!

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, i dismantle every wicked foundation affecting my life...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise and devour my devourers in Jesus name, amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Get ready and kicking 

Text: Matthew 24:36-45 (NIV):

"24:36. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

24:37. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

24:38. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

24:39. they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

24:40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.

24:41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

24:42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

24:43.But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

24:44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

24:45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?"

SHOWER (Reflection):

 Be prepared and keep kicking since you are in Christ Jesus. He said that no one knows the time or the hour of the coming of Christ. It just like owners of agric farm. For a farmer to yield  more positive harvests, they must must be monitoring the situation to cut the glass, contro pests, and so on. Let us be like them by destroying those fetish power.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Don't be afraid to initiate peace with the brethren 

Text: 2 Samuel 2:22-31 (NIV):

"2:22. Again Abner warned Asahel, "Stop chasing me! Why should I strike you down? How could I look your brother Joab in the face?"

2:23. But Asahel refused to give up the pursuit; so Abner thrust the butt of his spear into Asahel's stomach, and the spear came out through his back. He fell there and died on the spot. And every man stopped when he came to the place where Asahel had fallen and died.

2:24. But Joab and Abishai pursued Abner, and as the sun was setting, they came to the hill of Ammah, near Giah on the way to the wasteland of Gibeon.

2:25. Then the men of Benjamin rallied behind Abner. They formed themselves into a group and took their stand on top of a hill.

2:26. Abner called out to Joab, "Must the sword devour forever? Don't you realize that this will end in bitterness? How long before you order your men to stop pursuing their brothers?"

2:27. Joab answered, "As surely as God lives, if you had not spoken, the men would have continued the pursuit of their brothers until morning."

2:28. So Joab blew the trumpet, and all the men came to a halt; they no longer pursued Israel, nor did they fight anymore.

2:29. All that night Abner and his men marched through the Arabah. They crossed the Jordan, continued through the whole Bithron and came to Mahanaim.

2:30. Then Joab returned from pursuing Abner and assembled all his men. Besides Asahel, nineteen of David's men were found missing.

2:31. But David's men had killed three hundred and sixty Benjamites who were with Abner."

SHOWER (Reflection):

We must stop everything that causes internal wrangling among the brethren. These include kingship or leadership positions. These could lead to misunderstanding, unnecessary bickering and others. The Israelites are that you end the issue early enough. In today's teaching, there was war between the Houses of isreal. But at a stage, after up to 360 were killed at supposedly enemies of David. Our attention is however, on verse 26 where Abner called on Joab to ceasefire. As children of God, we should know when to call ourselves together and declare an end to our feud. Don't wait for your elder to do it if God gave you the grace to say it. Don't be afraid to initiate peace. Let's love leads among us in Jesus name, Amen.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, give me the grace to initiate and accept peaceful resolutions of issues with my brethren so that God will continue to be praised forever ...in Jesus name,  Amen.

2. O you kingdom of darkness that is attacking my glory, i command you to submit your power now, and die in Jesus name, Amen!

3. O God arise by Your power and uplift me by Your power...in Jesus name, amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: The power in a name

Text: Joel 2:28-32 (NIV):

"2:28. And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

2:29. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

2:30. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

2:31. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

2:32. And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Today's another day our Lord has made. Welcome with power and might in Jesus name, Amen. Brethren, we have come to see and identify another power we need to survive the year 2023. That power we will reflect on is power in the name of Jesus Christ. There are many names in the world. You surely have a name. We all have names. They all have different meanings. But one name is above and greater than all. Book of Joel is not referring to any other day but today. God has already poured His spirit on you and I. We received Him in our dreams. It is now time to make use of those gifts He gave us. You only have to use His name. That is the name that sea waves heard and kept quiet, sickness heard and ran away, principalities and powers heard and ran away. Learn to call that name wherever you found yourself...and He will save you.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, my Lord, by the power in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, I command an open heaven and outpouring of Your miracle upon me and my family today...in Jesus name,  Amen.

2. O you wicked man or woman moving about with sacrifices to stop my manifestations this year, I command you to die in Jesus name, Amen!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Unveiling the Spiritual Gifts 

Text: 1 Corinthians 12:1-10 (NIV):

12:1. Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.

12:2. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.

12:3. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

12:4. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

12:5. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

12:6. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

12:7. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

12:8. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,

12:9. to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

12:10. to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues"

SHOWER (Reflection):

God created us with different gifts and endowment for us to use to change our world. Some are meant to be healers, singers, preachers, advocates, etc. These are also manifesting in different academic and intellectual endeavours. How have you been using yours? Or don't you know yet? Ask God this morning to reveal that gift deposited in you for spiritual and physical emancipation. You will be happy once you discover it. It is not right that you are not utilising it to serve God. You can use your career or job to prove to the world that Jesus saves.  

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

TODAY’S TOPIC: Heavenly Visa

Text: Psalm 15:1-5 (NIV):

"15:1. LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?

15:2. He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart

15:3. and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,

15:4. who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

15:5. who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Welcome to the third Sunday of the year. May God name alone be praised now and forever. This month shall not end without manifestations of His power and might in your life; in Jesus name, Amen. In Nigeria today, people are discussing and praying for visas to Europe and other parts of the world. Visa is very important asset for traveling to another country that you think is better than yours. Visa also has different meanings; connotations and collocations. There are marital Visa, job Visa, promotion Visa, etc. In this 2023, what do you consider as your own Visa? First, you need not to be told that every Visa has it own qualifications, specifications or requirements. Some requirements are academics, money and others. But today, we are talking about heavenly Visa! This is what you ought to do to qualify for the kingdom of God. Today's biblical passage focused on those requirements; holiness, walking blamelessly, purity, avoid evil talks, love, fear God and honour God's people, provide financial help to people. If you can do all with love and prayers, every other things shall be added unto you. Cheer up and walk with Christ in 2023, world Visa will also not pass you by... Amen!

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. In this year I must possess my spiritual, marital and financial Visas in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God arise, arrest, bind and burn to ashes any principality or power responsible for delays in my upliftment in Jesus name, Amen!

3. By Your mercy O Lord, I will live to tell my story in Jesus name, Amen!
