TODAY’S TOPIC: How would your neighbours find out you're a Christian?

Text: Luke 10: 25-37 (NIV Bible)

"10:25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

10:26 "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

10:27 He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

10:28 "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

10:29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

10:30 In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.10:31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

10:32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

10:33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

10:34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

10:35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

10:36 "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

10:37 The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

*SHOWER:*

At first, I wanted to define today's topic as my neighbours and my Christian Life. But the spirit redirected me to the present topic. We are in an 'eye service' generation; a situation where people do things to be noticed or please certain people against the other (not to touch life or win souls for Christ). Discrimination is ruining the world down. This is a generation of those who offer helps to only those they know. These could be their family members, next door neighbours, friends and well wishers. But that doesn't bear true reflection of the word Christians. A true Christian, if you consider today's passage, sees everyone as a neighbour. Neighbours or neighbourhood go beyond identification of people living close to you, sitting besides you or so. The Good Samaritan by that singular life shows what God expect of us. That person you saw on the highway and by-passed even when you could offer some help is your neighbour. That job applicant you dropped or replaced their name with your church member, religious member, group member or village member, is your real neighbour. This also calls for jettisoning favouritism and other forms of discrimination, and to stick to credibility,  paying attention to quality or those who qaulified, possessors of ability, etc. Let us learn from Good Samaritan and win more souls for Christ through our lifestyles. Your life is the best and perhaps, only Bible majority are reading today. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O Jesus, I am sorry for deviating from my Christlike life. Thanks for resetting me like factory settings. I pray not to turn back to my vomit in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Christ Jesus, I have returned to You. My life will now reflect and promote Your course, Your will and Your way alone.*

*2. Although temptations may come my way tomorrow; I have received the grace, mercy and power to always overcome them and stand firm.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare myself as the Bible through which many souls will be won for Christ. This will surely be extended to my personal life, family, business, work and household in Jesus name, Amen.*

 _O God, I come before You with Thanksgiving for a new life You added unto me. Open my eyes to learn more reasons to remain submissive to You in Jesus name, Amen_ 

TODAY’S TOPIC: I know my own

Text: John 10:11-18 (AMP Bible)

" I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for the sheep. But the hired man [who merely serves for wages], who is neither the shepherd nor the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, deserts the flock and runs away; and the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. The man runs because he is a hired hand [who serves only for wages] and is not concerned about the [safety of the] sheep. I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep. I have other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they will listen to My voice and pay attention to My call, and they will become one flock with one Shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life so that I may take it back. No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father.”

*SHOWER:*

When you own something do anyone has to tell you that you own it before you start using it? Do you need permission from anyone to take your bathe, wash or drive your car? Again, when you own something the thing will definitely know that you own it. That is why when you slot your key into your car door or engine, it responds affirmatively. Anything you own in life that you require permission to use, promote or demote or force to is definitely not yours. That is one thing you must learn from today's word. It is either you are deceiving yourself or yourself is deceiving you. Our Lord Jesus Christ is making it clear to us today. He says "I am good shepherd, and I know those who are my own" and His own know Him. So, you cannot pretend to be His own when you are not. He knows us because He created us. We know Him when we worship Him! And when you know Him as a good shepherd or your God would you necessary need a pastor or priest to remind you that what you're doing is sinful or not? If your answer is 'no' kindly stand your ground to do His will. You will see that He won't disappoint you because He came that we may be saved and enjoy life abundantly.  

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Everlasting Jesus, I thank You for enriching me today. May Your word bear fruits of life in me in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. Jesus Christ is a good shepherd. I am His flock. He knows me. I knew Him.*

*2. Therefore, everything about me is known to God Almighty. He will provide everything concerning me accordingly even before I request for them.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: Hearing the word of God without believing

Text: Hebrews 4:1-3 (AMP Bible)

“Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still remains and is freely offered today, let us fear, in case any one of you may seem to come short of reaching it or think he has come too late. For indeed we have had the good news [of salvation] preached to us, just as the Israelites also [when the good news of the promised land came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not united with faith [in God] by those who heard. For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God] enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power], just as He has said, “As I swore [an oath] in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest,” [this He said] although His works were completed from the foundation of the world [waiting for all who would believe]."

*SHOWER:*

Have you ever asked yourself why certain things seemed not to be working  for you although they are working for others? You go to the church or fellowship, listen to the same message with people and so on. But when it works with your neighbours, it doesn't work for you. There are many factors responsible for this. But focusing on this passage, we discover the following; faith, fate, and sin. In verse 2, we were told that it may work for others than others because their faith were United with their expectations, trust and focus. That is why Heberew 11 recognised it as assurance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. For fate, in the same vere 3, it was because God has ruled out that it wasn't yet your turn. For you to make it your turn too, you must agree with yourself and seek God immediately and consistently. This will make God to change His mind to remember you. So, always acknowledge your sin before you begin to ask or expect new things from God. But most importantly, believe and you shall be set free, and richly blessed.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I pray for Your mercy and assistance to believe without doubt. Save me in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. My God is not partial. Whatever good He does to my neighbours will surely reach me same time.*

*2. I am solution to my generation because God prepared and empowered me to remain so.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: Affilected to fulfil God's word

Text: John 9:1-7 (AMP Bible)

“While He was passing by, He noticed a man [who had been] blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi (Teacher), who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but it was so that the works of God might be displayed and illustrated in him. We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world [giving guidance through My word and works].” When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made mud with His saliva, and He spread the mud [like an ointment] on the man’s eyes. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing."

*SHOWER:*

Often a time we ask ourselves why must it be us that are passing through certain situations, calamities or problems in life. Have you asked such kind questions to yourself or people around you before? There may always be a time to ask such kind questions in the life of every believer or living soul. The answer is that God holds the key to our lives; and knows why certain things are happening to us. He said He knows the plans He has for us, and had known what we would become before our conception. This scenario played out in the life of this blind man we are studying in today's Bible passage. He was blind from birth and did not know why. When the disciples inquired about it; they were informed that it was not because of his sins but for fulfilment of God's purpose or wonders in his life. What happened at end? Jesus healed him completely with spat on the sand. And people began to ask questions who is that this healed You. His answer here is that I don't know Him. What a wonder working God we serve. Hope you know that the blind man knew that he it was not due to his sin? He has faith too and by that allowed God to manifest His power through him. Let's give chance to God to do wonders through us. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I give You thanks for finding me worthy to hear from You today. I pray for Your Grace to stand firm to allow You to manifest Your power in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

*1. O God, my father, I decrease for You to increase in my life.*

*2. Kindly come, envelope me and manifest Your power in my life.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: Encourage one another in kindgom calls 

Text: Hebrews 3:12-15 (AMP Bible)

“Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God. But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication]. For we [believers] have become partakers of Christ [sharing in all that the Messiah has for us], if only we hold firm our newborn confidence [which originally led us to Him] until the end, while it is said, “Today [while there is still opportunity] if you hear His voice, Do not harden your heart, as when they provoked Me [in the rebellion in the desert at Meribah].”

*SHOWER:*

The world we live in is full of deceits, hypocrites and evil. Today's passage enjoins us to remember to encourage one another in all we do. Because every living soul has an opportunity to change, an opportunity to become born again, another opportunity to make it, opportunity to go higher... So, don't harden your heart. So many have used because of these daily opportunities to forget God. This is apparently because they see new kind of evils everyday among the so-called believers. But can you use because you are thirsty of water to live inside well? It was because some Israelites hardened their hearts made them to perish in the wilderness. We must move on. But don't move on alone. Get someone to follow you to Christ. You must also be careful in doing this so that the person you want to carry along won't drag you back. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, it is my choice to follow You with all my households and property. Help me to accomplish this in Jesus name, Amen.

*1. The grace to follow God with all I have, including my family and friends, have come over me this day.*

*2. O God, I shall not disappoint You. Your might hand upon me will never allow me to be drag back by anyone.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare God's open door, mercy and uncommon favour to realise all my dreams in Jesus name,  Amen.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: What is God's Word to you?

Text: Psalm 119:105-112 (AMP Bible)

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. I have sworn [an oath] and have confirmed it, That I will keep Your righteous ordinances. I am greatly afflicted; Renew and revive me [giving me life], O Lord, according to Your word. Accept and take pleasure in the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, And teach me Your ordinances. My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I do not wander from Your precepts. I have taken Your testimonies as a heritage forever, For they are the joy of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, even to the end."

*SHOWER:*

Psalmist says he's happy with the words of God because it is a lamp to his feet and light to his path. Lamp is a lighting device. Light helps people to see, chases away darkness and provides way to people who hold unto it. And the light is God. God is the light. Hence, Psalmist added that he will keep to His righteous ordinances. Righteousness of God gives life and everlasting life. Therefore, he fears none of the wicked who could await him. What is word of God to you? The word of God gives testimony to people. You have a choice to accept Him to see and become part of the goodness of God. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I have come to thank You for life You have given unto me. I thank You also for feeding me. May I know You more and hold unto Your light in Jesus name, Amen. 

*1. The word of God is my light and my life. Therefore, the wickedness of the wicked shall not see me at all.*

*2. With the word of God and light in me, I am already an overcomer. Whoever shall try me today shall meet his Waterloo in Jesus name, Amen.*

*3. I hereby decree and declare that by the power in the name of Jesus Christ, I will continue to rule my world in Jesus name, Amen.*
