TODAY’S TOPIC: Why our wounds not healed?

Text: Jeremiah 8:17-22 (NIV): 

"8:17.  See, I will send venomous snakes among you, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they will bite you," declares the LORD.

8:18.  O my Comforter in sorrow, my heart is faint within me.

8:19.  Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: "Is the LORD not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?" "Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?"

8:20.  "The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved."

8:21.  Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me.

8:22.  Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?"

SHOWER (Reflection):

Why me, why you and why now are what most people decry daily. They have passed through pains and agony, sought for solutions all over the places yet their problems not solved. Today's scripture is making us to understand that some sicknesses or travails we are passing through were caused by us. And the solutions remain repentance. You can see in verse 19 as God explained that His anger is that we turned images and objects to gods even when we know that they are not. Verse 22 asked if there was no physician in the land to heal us? There is one; His name is Jesus. We must totally surrender to Him to make way for us. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, hearken to my plea for mercy. I'm sorry for my iniquity. Have mercy in me so that I will change for good in Jesus, Amen.

2. O Jesus, I don't want to fail You. Lift me higher to worship and excel in Your kingdom works and in all that concerns me in Jesus name, Amen. 

3. I'm in Your hands. Therefore, I must not return home empty handed today in Jesus, name!

Don't be a doubter

TODAY’S TOPIC: Don't be a doubter 

Text: Luke 24: 36-43 (NIV): 

"24:36. While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

24:37. They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.

24:38. He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?

24:39. Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."

24:40. When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

24:41. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"

24:42. They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

24:43. and he took it and ate it in their presence."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Don't be a doubter no matter the condition you find yourself. See from the scripture how the disciples doubted Jesus even after He had greeted them same He does before the crucification. Do not also be discouraged to an extent of swearing before God or gods to satisfy people and prevent them from doubting your prowess. Allow them to continue. Just learn a lesson from how our Lord Jesus overcame them.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, make me to discover, listen and able to follow Your path of love, justice and peace so that I will go higher in life in Jesus name, Amen.

2. I overcome all the doubting spirit and power. I move on with faith to conquer and prosper in Jesus name, Amen. 

3. Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! I am in Your hands. Therefore, all my petitions before You are answered in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Follow God's will 

Text: Ephesians 5:11-20 (NIV): 

"5:11. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

5:12. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.

5:13. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,

5:14. for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

5:15. Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise,

5:16. making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

5:17. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

5:18. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

5:19. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,

5:20. always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

SHOWER (Reflection):

All in all, our take home from today's scripture is understanding God's will and purpose in our life. God's will supersedes all things. That is why it is said that man proposes but God disposes. Therefore, you must be careful how you treat people. Use every opportunity you see yourself for good and services of God. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, thank You for reminding me about Your will. Let it supersedes and make ways for me in Jesus, Amen.

2. In this month of August, I must succeed in showing love and winning souls for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen. 

3. I'm a covenant child. Today is my day of elevation and miracles. I go out to prosper, and I must return as a prosperous child in Jesus, name!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Return before is late

Text: Jeremiah 8:1-6 (NIV): 

"8:1. At that time, declares the LORD, the bones of the kings and officials of Judah, the bones of the priests and prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.

8:2. They will be exposed to the sun and the moon and all the stars of the heavens, which they have loved and served and which they have followed and consulted and worshiped. They will not be gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground.

8:3. Wherever I banish them, all the survivors of this evil nation will prefer death to life, declares the LORD Almighty.'

8:4. "Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: "'When men fall down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return?

8:5. Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.

8:6. I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, "What have I done?" Each pursues his own course like a horse charging into battle."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Repentance is a time for sobber reflection. God has given us enough time to retract our footsteps and follow Him alone. That is; re (continuous changing from good to best). It is unfortunate that most of us don't want to turn away from evil. God has presented us with another opportunity.  

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, forgive me my sins. Help me to follow You all all the days of my life in Jesus, Amen.

2. O you month of August, I overcome all challenges and problems you are struggling to pass unto me. In Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Live a good life

Text: Ephesians 4:17-25 (NIV): 

"4:17.  So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

4:18.  They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.4:19. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

4:20.  You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.

4:21.  Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.

4:22.  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

4:23. to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

4:24.  and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

4:25.  Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body." 

SHOWER (Reflection):

It's always good to live a good life in purity and righteousness. When one is in Christ, he is a new creature and should allow His life to depict Christ. You will rejoice when you are free to meet Christ. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I have surrendered myself to You today. Mould me and use me in accordance with Your words in Jesus name, Amen.

2. Today is a new day in a new week. God will make ways for me this day and this week. I shall go out and return in joy all through, Amen. 

3. I am lifted up. God has turned my sorrow to joy, and I will rejoice forever more in Jesus name, Amen!!!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Seek God's face now!

Text: Jeremiah 7:23-32 (NIV): 

"7:23. For when I brought your forefathers out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not just give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices,

7:23. but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.

7:24. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.

7:25. From the time your forefathers left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.

7:26. But they did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their forefathers.'

7:27. "When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.

7:28. Therefore say to them, 'This is the nation that has not obeyed the LORD its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.

7:29. Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.

7:30. "'The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the LORD. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it.

7:31. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire--something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.

7:32. So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter, for they will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room." Because everyday is for thief, one day is for the owner. 

SHOWER (Reflection):

Obidient is better than sacrifice. We have all turned astray. There is need for us to come back to our senses and follow God again in truth and honesty. Bible says it will be very difficult and painful when God will come (especially among those who were once brethren). Are you among them? Why running away from your responsibility as child of God? 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

Be not a hypocrite

TODAY’S TOPIC: Be not a hypocrite

Text: Matthew 6:16-18 (NIV): 

"6:16.  When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

6:17.  But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,

6:18.  so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Fasting is a good venture. It is a spiritual exercise we engage on to draw closer to God. By it, people dine and wine with God. But you must be ready for it before you embark on it. It requires spiritual energy and sincerity of purpose. However, you can now see people who decorate or beautify  themselves to show they are fasting. Bible says they are receiving their rewards on Earth...yes people will praise you when they discover it, whereas God will reward you when none knows that you are fasting. In other words, you don't run away from works or your official responsibilities to show people that you are fasting. So, He clarified in the book of Isaiah 58 too on what should be done or not. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, help me to fast and pray according to Your will in Jesus name, Amen.

2. Today is my day for spiritual and physical encounter with Jesus Christ. Therefore, I shall not go to Church and return in vain. All my problems and challenges of life must be solved as I step into the House of God, Amen. 

3. My faith is uplifted in Christ Jesus. I have nothing good to loose this day and throughout this month. Favour shall I gain although in Jesus name, Amen!!!
