Prayer before the Word: 

 _O God, I thank You for been my God. I pray You to help me read and understand Your word in Jesus name, Amen_ 

TODAY’S TOPIC: Have you consulted God?

Text: 1 Samuel 23:1-6 (NIV Bible)

"23:1 When David was told, "Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,"

23:2 he inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go and attack these Philistines?" The LORD answered him, "Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah."

23:3 But David's men said to him, "Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!"

23:4 Once again David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD answered him, "Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand."

23:5 So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah

23:6 (Now Abiathar son of Ahimelech had brought the ephod down with him when he fled to David at Keilah.)"

*SHOWER:*

Have you consulted God? Consultation is a sure way to success in leadership affairs and other purposes. To consult is to inquire, to ask questions, to meet with people and possibly secure answers to a problem. Here David despite the fact that God has uplifted him, was still busy consulting Him to be sure that He approves whatever decisions He wants to take. We need to form habits of making inquiry from God at always. It helps to eliminates mistakes, elevate people, etc. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I thank You for impacting positively on me today. Help me to form habit of inquiring from You before I take action in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. The God of wonders is with me. I cannot leave Him to consult other gods.*

*2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I will overcome all challenges the devil has posed on my way.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: The secret of longevity

Text: Deuteronomy 4:32-40 (NIV Bible)

"4:32 Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created man on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of?

4:33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived?

4:34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by miraculous signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

4:35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.

4:36 From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

4:37 Because he loved your forefathers and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength,

4:38 to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today.

4:39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.

4:40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time."

*SHOWER:*

If you observe well, you will find out that rules and regulations did not start today. It  serves as guides or something to march on for a smooth administration or survival strategy. A child or children who respect their parents are bound to enjoy them. Who will be happy when a child you feed or carter for refuses to run an errand for you, or queries your authority? You know for a sure that when this continues, the elder may look away from the disobedience child; and the child may fall into trouble or tragedy. But when one does respect their parents or so, they are bound to enjoy advice, wealth, etc. from them. This also happens in governance. When one runs foul of law governing the land, it usually amounts to impeachment or sanctions. That is what Our God probably meant in verses 39 to 40 of today's scripture. Death could also come. For instance when you smoke or drink because others do not minding this instructions and your health, the physical death will surely come. Don't say it has been overcome by coming of Lord Jesus. Remember He said He did not come to abolish the law but to make it stronger, workable and effective.

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I adore You today for who You are and who You made me to become. I pray You not to abandon me in this journey in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. I'm an overcomer. My family are overcomers. We shall not fall to the traps of the enemies.*

*2. By the power in the blood Jesus Christ, I will always detect and flee away from all traps, sins and satanic powers.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: The Escape route from envy

Text: 1 Samuel 21:  (NIV Bible)

"21:10 That day David fled from Saul and went to Achish king of Gath.

21:11 But the servants of Achish said to him, "Isn't this David, the king of the land? Isn't he the one they sing about in their dances: "'Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands'?"

21:12 David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish king of Gath.

21:13 So he pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their hands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard.

21:14 Achish said to his servants, "Look at the man! He is insane! Why bring him to me?

21:15 Am I so short of madmen that you have to bring this fellow here to carry on like this in front of me? Must this man come into my house?"

*SHOWER:*

When the anger of king Saul towards David became too much, he became conscious of where he was and what he does. His speeches and actions became calculated to easily decipher who is a true friend or a pretender. You can see how he acted as a mad man here to survive an impending danger. Our fame, wealth, gifts, beauty and others can attract envy and hatred towards. We must not always think that everything must be solved spiritually. Try to always study, understand your immediate environment and respond to it accordingly. Our God has already empowered us to overcome our challenges. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

O God, I adore You for today. Open my eyes to know You, strengthen me to work in Your vineyard, do not allow me fall into the traps of Your enemies in Jesus name, Amen!

TODAY’S TOPIC: Frictions between the word and the world

Text: 1 Timothy 6:3-10 (NIV Bible)

"6:3 If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,

6:4 he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions

6:5 and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

6:7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

6:8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

6:9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.

6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

*SHOWER:*

Our God is wonderful. We have entered the second day in the month of May in happiness. Today, we are been reminded of what to do to stand firm. The world is in troubled hours currently. We are exposed to many things and many people who are making us to fall away from the faith. The frictions between the word and the world (humans) are listed in today's scripture for us to guide ourselves if we must make it this month. They include false doctrines, corrupt minds, love of money, dishonest people and so on. We must try to overcome this so that at the last day, we will not miss heaven. 

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Everlasting God, I know You have started perfecting my plans for the month. Help me so that I won't fall out of Your way or plans for me this month in Jesus name, Amen!

*1. The month of May is my month for everlasting joy. My God has risen on His throne of Mercy to make me a wonder to my generation.*

*2. Therefore, this month shall be my month of worshiping Him alone, making waves in all areas of my life and worthy celebrations.* 

*3. I hereby decree and declare that whatever good I shall request from God this month shall be granted unto me this month. Also, all that God destined for me this month must get to me in Jesus name, Amen.*

TODAY’S TOPIC: May to flourish

Text: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 (NIV Bible)

"4:13 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak,

4:14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.

4:15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

*SHOWER:*

When the grace to flourish is bequeathed on a child of God, everything about him or her becomes perfect. Because God makes the imperfect to becomes perfect. We are all welcome to a new month; a month of mercy and everlasting glory. Do not consider what you are seeing now but think of what will come tomorrow. So, fix your eyes on tomorrow and keep on arriving to attend the crown. Kindly remember that some who started the year with us are no more. They are gone not because they are not worthy like us but because God allowed us little time to praise and worship Him. Therefore, keep pushing in the right direction. Your May 2022 must be better than months of April, March, February and January 2022 in Jesus name, Amen!!!

*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*

Everlasting God, I thank You for a new month. I adore and honour You for all You did to me last month and more You plan to do this month in Jesus name, Amen!
