TODAY’S TOPIC: Our Lord is living God

Text: Jeremiah 10:2-10 NIV:

"10:2. This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them.

10:3. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

10:4. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.

10:5. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good."

10:6. No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.

10:7. Who should not revere you, O King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.

10:8. They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols.

10:9. Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. What the craftsman and goldsmith have made is then dressed in blue and purple--all made by skilled workers.

10:10. But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Our Lord is only living God. When others are idols made from woods, painting and so on, He is not made. Is it not funny to say that people prefer worshipping objects made out of what He made, instead of Him? Come to think of it...how would you feel, if for instance, you author a book and people extract some passages or sentence from the work, and take them as their best quote, inspiration or god instead of mentioning your name? Wouldn't you get angry, sue or punish the offenders? You can now imagine what we do to almighty God! Verse 8 describes such adherents as senseless and foolish because they worship a worthless (lifeless) idols! The choice is ours to make God our true God.  

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, because You live forever, I reject, renounce and set on fire, any object that is making self god to my life, in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God arise and manifest Your power in my life so that people will see reasons to follow me to serve You...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I must surmount the unsurmountable and lift the heavenly  crown at the end, in Jesus name , Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Follow who knows road

Text: John 21:3-13 NIV:

"21:3. I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

21:4. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.

21:5. He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?" "No," they answered.

21:6. He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

21:7. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.

21:8. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.

21:9. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

21:10. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."

21:11. Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 

21:12. Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.

21:13. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

SHOWER (Reflection):

In this world, when you are going to a new place, you are required to travel along with a resident or some other key players. Here Apostle Peter and his colleagues embarked on fishing. They did not catch fish even when they toured the whole rivers. It was however, when they encountered Jesus they were able to make a Catch. In order words, we will achieve nothing when we don't have Christ. Love of God opens doors for more opportunities.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, give me your grace and peace of mind to find and serve You alone, in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God arise, destroy every conspiracy of the wicked over my life and family...in Jesus name, Amen.

3. Opportunities that will announce me to the world and to generations yet unborn, locate me by fire, in Jesus name , Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Think forward, resists failure 

Text: Jeremiah 8:4-10 (NIV):

"8:4. Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: "'When men fall down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return?

8:5 Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.

8:6 I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, "What have I done?" Each pursues his own course like a horse charging into battle.

8:7 Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD.

8:8 "'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?

8:9 The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have?

8:10 Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit."

SHOWER (Reflection):

In this life do not allow yourself to remain stagnated or backslided. You should always strive to return or relaunch yourself after failure. One fails to win again just as a seed dies to beget trees. Let failure propels you to work hard to achieve greater result later. This is possible when you don't allow your circumstances to control you. God is not happy with those who refused to make move for a greater tomorrow. He hates deceits, faithlessness and unseriousness. That is why He decided to punish His people in today's teaching. 

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God my father, by the reason of Your anointing, I reject and pull off every seed of failure and stagnancy in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I must live to enjoy the fruits of my labour and works of my hand, in Jesus name , Amen.

3. I am God's child. I will remain a victor not a victim, today and forever in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Certified God's vessel 

Text: 1 Timothy 3:1-10 (NIV):

"3.1. Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.

3:2. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

3:3. not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

3:4. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.

3:5. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)

3:6. He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.

3:7. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.

3:8. Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.

3:9. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

3:10. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons."

SHOWER (Reflection):

We are children of God by the reason of creation and living. Yes. He is a giver of life. A fish can't deny water. However, we cannot claim to love Him or serve Him when we don't keep to His commandments. Today's message warned on certain lifestyles ought not to be seen or mentioned among the brethren. You may think they are only for the pastors, reverends or church leaders. No! Everyone who believes that Jesus Christ is lord should strive to live such a holy life because our God is holy. You that is a Church leader; leading in any capacity, look at yourself to see if your life conforms to Christ or not. You can still adjust now or end in abyss because bible says the judgement will start from the pulpit, and some people may be told on the last day that "I never know you."

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, by the reason of Your salvation, order my footsteps that I may not fall but continue to go higher in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God arise, pull down the devil strongholds tying down my life, in Jesus name , Amen.

3. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I shall not return home today without locating my destiny helpers and good packages, Amen.

Are you living up to your prophesy?

TODAY’S TOPIC: Are you living to your prophesy? 

Text: 1 Timothy 1:15-19 (NIV):

"1:15. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst.

1:16. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

1:17. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1:18. Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight,

1:19. holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Most of us were born into the families where parents heard one prophesy or another concerning us upon birth or even as toddlers or adolescents. They could be good prophesies like your destined to become governor, prophet, king, scientist or whatever. This surely requires constant prayers, advice, suggestions, therapy, counselling, etc. to be realised especially when the parents have died or incapacitated. Do you anyone around you? Are you doing the job of tutoring to him or her? Generally, today's teaching wants us to have mentes and mentors. Don't just live. But let people around you learn one or many things from you. Teach them what is right and how to dictate and run away from what is wrong.  

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, build me with Your words and power to work as a good mentor to others around me for the purpose of Your Kingdom in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I declare this week favourable to me all through in Jesus name , Amen.

3. O God arise and stop whoever wants to stop my rising and joy this week in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Gods blinded unbelievers 

Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 (NIV):

"4:1. Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.

4:2. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

4:3. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

4:4. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

4:5. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

4:6. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Welcome to yet another day in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Brethren, our God is still faithful to His promise and will remain same now and forever, Amen. Today's message is urging us to refrain from every act or behaviour that shows us as taken God's glory. It says we should preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by showing good example. No one should preach himself but God. Think, reflect to know if there are ways you are projecting yourself instead of God. This mounts to idolatry and gods of the world have blind folded unbelievers that they will never see the light. Let the light of God so shines on you!!!

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. In the name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy spirit, I receive the light of God to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in truth and honesty, words and behaviour, in Jesus name, Amen.

2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I quench every satanic fire burning the glory of God in my life, in Jesus name, Amen.

3. O God arise and reposition me so that the world will know am serving a living God, in Jesus name, Amen.
