Prayer before the Word:
_Thank you Jesus for a day like this. I worship you for making it possible for me to be living among the living today. Please, as I study your word this morning, open my spiritual eyes to see, understand and apply Your instructions in Jesus name, Amen_ .
*TODAY’S THEME: What is your testimony?*
TEXT: John 1:29-34
"[29]The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, Look! There is the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!
[30]This is He of Whom I said, After me comes a Man Who has priority over me [Who takes rank above me] because He was before me and existed before I did.
[31]And I did not know Him and did not recognize Him [myself]; but it is in order that He should be made manifest and be revealed to Israel [be brought out where we can see Him] that I came baptizing in (with) water.
[32]John gave further evidence, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it dwelt on Him [never to depart].
[33]And I did not know Him nor recognize Him, but He Who sent me to baptize in (with) water said to me, Upon Him Whom you shall see the Spirit descend and remain, that One is He Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.
[34]And I have seen [that happen–I actually did see it] and my testimony is that this is the Son of God!"
*SHOWER:*
In the law court, testimony is a statement often made by a witness to either corroborate or dispute an issue under the contention. But among the Christendom, it's act of revealing to people what God has done and/or still doing in one's life, family, businesses, etc. In our today's text, John the Baptist, was moved to testify that Jesus Christ is He who is to come. John, as observed in verse 33, also disclosed that he was doing that even when he did not know Him. So, have you testified before? If not, why not? If yes, what was your testimony? Your life alone is worth glorifying the name of God. The best or simple testimony our Lord Jesus requires of us, is salvation (verse 31). That is why in Matthew 5:13-15, He describes us as salt and light expected to make way for others to come through Him. Our behaviours, actions and inactions, works of our hands, etc. must testify God today and forever!
*PRAYER/DECLARATIONS*
Oh God, I promise to testify of your good works in my life. Please, give me the grace and wisdom to do this through Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!
*1. My life is a testimony. I shall testify of God's goodness in my life forever.*
*2. I hereby decree and declare that nothing can ever stop me from testifying of God's goodness in my life and family.*
*3. I have received the God's grace to testify wherever I go.*
*4. As I step out today, no evil personality, principality or power anywhere can stop me or my family from testifying of God's goodness.*
*5. Today, God has remembered me and my family. Therefore, we are unstoppable in Jesus name, Amen.*
