DAILY SHOWER March 31, 2022 Devotion and Declarations
Prayer before the Word:
_Father, I thank You for a new day. I pray You to make way for me where there is no way. Open my eyes and minds so that I will know You more in Jesus name I pray, Amen_
TODAY’S TOPIC: His sacrifice set us free
Text: Hebrews 10: 11-18 (NIV Bible)
"10:11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
10:12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
10:13 Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool,
10:14 because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
10:15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
10:16 "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."
10:17 Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
10:18 And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin."
*SHOWER:*
In the past, people are often called to order by God through the prophets. Then, sinners are told the type of sacrifices required for atonement and cleansing. These could be with agricultural produce especially lambs or other livestock. But one man, the true Son of God, Jesus Christ by His coming to die for our sake changed all these. One of the things the coming of Jesus brought to mankind as we are being reminded today is that God entered into a new and everlasting covenant with us. This guarantees that whatever we do today that is either good or bad we will definitely be told by our conscience (our mind). Unfortunately, many have sold or beclouded their conscience with worldly things. The coming of Jesus Christ also brought instant forgiveness of sins. We no longer required sacrifice (s) before our sins are forgiven because He has already sacrificed Himself on the cross to redeem our sins. He even made it possible that we can receive instant answers to our prayers; asks and it shall be given unto you (Matt. 7:7). With Christ Jesus, we have nothing to loose any more but gains. So, why can't us submissive to Him?
