Man proposes, God disposes

DAILY SHOWER September 13, 2022 Devotion and Declarations

Prayer before the Word:

_ O God, my King, my Your name be highly glorified for the gift of life. Forgive my trespasses. Please, show me Your way, and assist me to follow it to the end in Jesus name, Amen_

TODAY’S TOPIC: Man proposes, God disposes

Text: Acts 9:1-9 (NIV):

"9:1. Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest

9:2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

9:3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

9:4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"

9:5 "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied.

9:6 "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."

9:7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone.

9:8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

9:9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything."

SHOWER (Reflection):

Our God is not a man that fails. He is a marvelous God, and does things in a marvelous and miraculous way. Can't you imagine how a hunter became hunted? Saul proposed to kill more Christians as he usually does. And the request was granted by a worldly king or leader. But what of God? He rejected the request. Remarkably, God didn't reject it by striking Saul to death. Not even by stopping him from embarking on the journey. For sure, He would have made him to forget it that day or sleep off, etc. Wonderful God decided to allow him to finish the preparation, dragged him outside before stopping him. He didn't just stopped him...He did it by replacing his thoughts and actions with things of God. That is to show us that His way is not our way. So, when praying a times, try to wait on the Lord to know if He has other better things or plans. The person you want Him to kill might be a useful tool that can be used to change the world. Therefore, be careful and rather ask Him to spare your life and that of your family by asking for His will to be done.

PRAYER/DECLARATIONS

1. O God, I submit myself to You. Let Your will be done in Jesus name, Amen.

2. O God, my life and that of my family members must not be used for sacrifice by the enemies who will repent tomorrow. Spare O Lord to serve You well in Jesus name, Amen!.

3. Arrest my arresters, destroy my destroyers, O Lord. Bring more souls to Your vineyard because I live in Jesus name, Amen.
